They only play with one striker, but you're right, they only have two in the squad. They have Clinton N'Jie but I don't think he's very highly rated.
Are ours good enough.we did get relegated, I don't think they are Struggled at times in the championship too no consistency we need about 5 quality first team signings in my opinion pretty much a new spine of the team I think dawson, snodgrass and Livermore are adequate for surviving in the premiership the rest are very questionable
We did get relegated, but mostly because a lot of those first team signings missed large parts of the season in some capacity and the players we had as depth just weren't good enough. We'll probably sign new players in every position (except maybe the goalkeeper) anyway.
Bearing in mind they missed a lot of the prem they came back and struggled in the championship at times so even if fit in the prem could of majorly struggled Not jus arguing for the sake I agree with your assembolonga shout Just need to,up the standard a notch or two it'd be tough next season
I agree we need a higher standard of player, however I don't think the ability of the lads we have should be discounted. Plenty of players look average in the Championship and then step up as we know. Players like Diame and Thudd will enjoy a bit more time on the ball against bigger clubs and Odubajo will relish the space in front of him if teams play that 4-2-3-1 formation.
Assombalonga would be a signing I'd be very happy with personally. Seems like that explosive pace type player that can frighten a defence. Wouldn't cost the earth either
Assombalonga would cost about £6m, but he's just coming back from a massive injury so I'd wait until later in the window and see how he fares in pre season before having a go for him (unless our hand is forced and we have to make a move because somebody else wants him.)
Can't imagine a youngster like him would be too affected by a bad injury though. If he still looks the part I'd go for him.
With Fiorentina after Hernandez, we'll have to stitch him up ASAP. Can't afford to lose our 1 and only striker
Deal for Powell is a gamble. But if it pays off and he plays to his level then it's a no brainer. If he is always injured it's another Ben Arfa situation. Sort the contract structure out right and it's a possible for me if we avoid the mistakes we made with JB. Which we will as we've learnt!
He'd not sign a pay as you play I expect. But a deal with added years based on game time maybe. I'd do it. We aren't rich enough to buy big so maybe get free and take a chance
We're not going to be signing anyone from PL teams for the simple fact every team has money falling out their ears now and it would cost ridiculous amounts to tempt people to sell anyone decent. It'll be cast offs, foreigners and lower league dross.
Just looked at a transfer thingy on twitter and in the last few days they have linked us with Loic Remy, Victor Moses, Leroy Fer and today Mile Jedinak. Some decent players there.
We don't even know who our manager will be yet, never mind what players the manager might want to sign, any links at the moment are nothing more than guesses.
