How about an approach for Jurgen Klopp - after all we can offer European football unlike the club where he is at currently! That would be funny!
I did say I'm not even sure why. I agree with HR that he seems to be whoring himself out a little bit. Like I said as well, to me it seems to me almost loke an easy, lazy option which is why I'm not suprised he's amongst the favourites early doors
I don't blame the club...you can block a player, but not a manager. Better to get someone in and have a decent preseason. The only person to blame here is koeman. He played an honourable man in a dishonourable world. Koeman is worse than a man without honour. He had honour and sold it.
How about a cheeky bid for Arsene Wenger? 1 year left on his contract. Many Arsenal fans have wanted him sacked for years. Doesn't like spending too much money. Ruins Saints players............ Oh a flaw in the plan.
Would turn him down 100 times out of 100. There was no amazing skill involved in doing what he did with that amount of money at Spurs. Apart from anything, he is completely the wrong profile for Saints, and is a manager who believes in the Mourinho model of being a bigger story than the club.
Koeman is worse than a man without honour. He had honour and sold it. Spot on Fran. When my children were young I used to impress upon them the importance of truth, honour and respect. I told them they only had to steal one thing or tell one lie and their reputation would be ruined and they would never be believed or trusted again.
I think we're at the point where we are surely no longer naive enough to think any manager would act differently in these sort of circumstances? Even TSS' eyes must have opened to the fact that managers' and players' words don't actually reflect truth beyond that precise few seconds in time when they are first spoken!
I can honestly say I am not having a meltdown. I have faith in the club...just annoyed that we should be looking forward to the best season of our life. We may yet...after all, Ron said himself that he had taken us as far as he could, according to friends, so perhaps time to pass the baton.
I'm with you there Fran, but how can he say that to friends when Leicester have just won the Premier League? Full is **** is Ron, if you ask me?
He clearly loves some of the players we have. Hows best to end this, really messy so its difficult to deal with us, amicable agreement .....don't come a knocking? Everton are going to be chucking money around, we don't want any of it coming this way.
He has his limitations as a manager, but we were happy to overlook those because a) he appeared to have character, and b) he is a football legend. Now that his character is shown to be hollow and the legend is tarnished, his limitations look a bit more glaring. Probably he has taken us as far as he is able. So now we look for a replacement of greater ability.
Not sure about anyone else but I've heard nothing from Koeman at all, only talk about what's happening so I can't judge him for his actions when I don't know what they have been. I have always admire the refreshing Dutch honesty from Koeman in his press convenes so it will be interesting to hear what he says when he finally does speak. As for a new manager, maybe we already have one in the wings. A few pages back on the transfer rumours thread, KBilly was said to have posted that Koeman was going and then that we were signing LVG. That last comment may have been a joke, and not sure he would like our (comparatively) limited budget, but has a reputation for playing youngsters. Any manager is a risk - an unknown who may be out of their depth, or a name who loves to endlessly spend and experiment. I have no prediction, just a hope that the board keep up their excellent track record.
If he reckons he has taken us as far as he can then he obviously has no faith in his own ability. All joking aside I don't want a manager that would just settle for 6th and think that's it. Let's bring in someone who believes we can win things!
