So where is the fire when Ronaldo is linked with a move to PSG/United every summer but never moves. Or the fact Ibrahimovic has been linked to about 10 different clubs this summer... A lot of paper talk is made up, which means there is certainly smoke without fire. In this case it is ONE journalist, don't you think if something were going on there may be more than just one bloke who knows about it. Also, the fact Koeman categorically ruled Everton out is probably a better indication of his future rather than one Dutch bloke.

Things change.....we have been in this position so many times and the signs are always the same.whatever happens, happens.we move on again

Koeman wasn't at the meeting, it was his agent. His agent isn't contracted to Soton therefore Koeman has done nothing wrong.

His agent is doing his job. If there was a potential £6m on the table from EFC and he's currently on £2m with a potential £2.5m on the table at Soton, then if he was your agent wouldn't you expect him to at least speak to the prospective employer who'd dangled that carrot?

Maybe I'm a bit odd, but if I had gone on record as saying that I would honour a contract, I would like to think that I would do that, irrespective of carrots being dangled.
And, if my agent made such a visit, without my knowledge, then I would look for another agent.
Naive maybe, but some people think a good name is worth keeping, and it's not as if Ron is short of a few quid.

Ron might be doing what we all do with our car insurance ... squeezing a little more out of the system. I get my renewal quote, it's not bad but then I get an email from GoCompare saying they can insure my car for £50 less. I tell my current insurer this and they reduce the renewal by £30. I stay - piece of mind with my current setup but get some extra money off.

In Ron's case, he sends the agent up to "enquire" about potential wage and transfer budget. Ron gets the details, sits down with Saints and squeezes a little more out of the board for his contract renewal ...

At least, this is what I choose to believe in this scenario :-)

if he does go it proves 2 things. 1. The board are not as ambitious as we thought and 2. People on here who claim to be in the know pretty much know nothing. If he stays then we have a really ambitious board and our itk's are the best.

If he leaves this summer it will be for one reason. SFC are unhappy with the instability that the one remaining year creates, & they would rather make a tough decision now than to let the situation run. Everton don't know jack, they are just hanging around in desperation, no point with getting upset with them.

Utter rubbish . He is a very good manager IMHO , if people would give him a chance !

I agree. He's done everything that's been asked of him, time after time. And it's a myth imo that he only knows how to play the long ball. Give him the tools and he does the job. Could he get Saints into the CL? Quite possibly he could but I doubt we'll ever know, frankly.

I still think Ron is staying one more year anyway.

Doesn't prove that at all.

Whatever will be will be.
Tobes, with all due respect, you are an unknown commodity (to me at least), with regards to being reliably ITK.
Care to name your source or indicate how he would be privy to such information, about Koeman's agent meeting with Everton?

What I can't grasp is that for two years Koeman has given countless interviews in which he has been brutally honest, and most/all Saints fans see him as being an extremely honourable man and we expect him to at least honour the last year of his current contract.
If, as you claim, his agent has met, today, with EFC officials, you are effectively saying he is not the honourable person we think he is.
Maybe we're just too trusting and gullible.

If it is true that his agent has met with Everton today then I think it is pretty certain that Saints have given it the OK first!!!
