Saints fans tend to be very selective in what they read/hear in the news, I don't remember anyone complaining at how public some of our previous summer business was, ie - Clasie, Van Dijk, Forster, Wanyama, Cedric, Pelle, etc...

Also, if you spend enough time on this board, you'll be forgiven for thinking that the media only make rumours up about people leaving Saints. Apparently it happens to no other club!
haha, I think most clubs are the same in fairness mate. When it's positive press articles they're obviously spot on, when they're negative they're the ramblings of hacks.

There's a right game of poker being played over this saga by the sounds of it. Koeman's agent supposedly meeting EFC today (2 p.m.) which might suit both parties - as it cranks up the pressure on Emery to make a decision and might make Soton think about the level of their offer to Koeman.

Koeman now odds on with most bookmakers, but I'd take that with a pinch, as the ball remains firmly in Emery's court.

That is entirely correct.

Tbh if Koeman goes it's not the end of the world, I thought he would be here until a 'top' job came up - but I don't blame him if he wants to go and work with players like Lukaku, Barkley, Deulefeu (sp), Stones with a supposedly huge transfer budget.

Everton would be the wrong club to go to if he wants to work with Lukaku...

Lukaku wants to leave, definitely. If he does any new manager will have upwards of £40m to reinvest from the sale, but I honestly can't see who will spend the big money on him this summer.

Being quoted on the main Everton forum that Emery has rejected our job offer....

Can't get hold of my mate to see if he's heard similar.

This is about to get interesting......

Somebody should have told Ron by now what a poisonous lot the Everton supporters are. He needs to call his mate Roberto Martinez now and have a brief chat.

Why are some on here getting so emotive for this Everton-thing; how many times has Ron got to say he is staying for at least one more season; is in negotiations over a new contract at St Marys and there has been no discussion internally at Saints over Everton - the latter stated this week by the club? Sorry, but this is really tiresome - should we not be discussing player transfers rather than this?

Because Pochetino said exactly the same thing "I have one more year on my contract."

Not really. The difference is that Poch was saying he had one more year and therefore there was no need to worry about contract discussions. Koeman has said he has one more year and that he's staying and will see his contract out.

Big kerfuffle over nothing as things stand.

Just to add fuel to the fire, the Dutch media source that broke the news of Koeman and/or his agent being in Liverpool is very reliable, according to a Dutch person I know

Pochettino also said he did not see a future for himself at Southampton with Cortese.

Cortese left, Pochettino finished the season off and then resigned. Just as he said he would.

If he did go (I know he's not, but y'know) I wonder if the people on here would show the same vociferous hatred of him as they do of Poch. Because under these circumstances, they should actually hate him more.
