You'll probably want rid of it even quicker, what a shed of a car.

About as reliable as Gazza on a paper round.

Nah. I'm aware it could cost me a grand a month to keep it running. My dad had one (although it was very reliable to be fair) so am aware of he cost issues. I'd see it as a labour of love. Not like I spend my money on anything else!

My favourite car ever was a Mark3 Fiesta RS Turbo.

It was **** built, the gear stick was about 4 foot long, it leaked, it overheated, it rusted, bits of trim fell off, the heaters were 9 million degrees, but on that rare day when it had it's good days and it worked it was just an absolute joy to throw about. I loved me hatches up until about 26 years old.

Someone mentioned a 205 GTI as well, had one of them, loved it, only the 1.6 sadly never the 1.9, had a Clio Williams 2, pretty much every Golf GTi/VR6 imaginable.

Caught it from me dad he had the most amazing motors, Capri's, Escorts, Granada's Saab Turbo, always the top end ones.

My mum is still a Ford nut now would you believe, she's 62 this year and has a Focus ST.

I'll never grow out of fast cars and speed, I have 2 cars at the minute, both BMW 330 coupes, one is a 64 plate, one an e46 on an 03 plate that I bought to use for a track day at Croft that we'd been saying we'd do for years.

Never actually converted it, as its such a joy to drive being one of the last one's before all the interference, I find myself using it more than the new one, and rather than converting it for track days I'm slowly rebuilding it, it's mechanically perfect anyway it just has some age related cosmetics.

Bought it for £800 with 62,000 on it, full CSL kit and interior, Harmen Kardon sound system etc cos the lad who had it thought the gasket had gone cos it was overheating, it was a £35 expansion tank bottle. One born every minute they say...

Is that not technically a 430 then?

I'd love to go out and buy an 80's or 90's motor now, a nice Mk2 RS or something, spend a load of money on it, wifey would hit the roof, she's not too happy about me buying a new Focus RS and they're practically family cars!

It's not 'technically' a 430 it is a 430 haha. Good spot though but you know what I mean, I've had that many of them it remains a 3 series in my head.

Aye, I'd love to restore an old Ford, I used to love the Mk 5 RS, always thought i'd love to do a turbo conversion on one but then I got older and **** like that stops being viable. Ha.

Nice, sublime looking cars absolutely stunning. Are you getting one with solid metallic paint or the fancy two tone pearlescent?

The Mk3 RS Turbo was incredible, there's one kicking around in Manchester, and the owner's looked after it really well.

Our neighbour when I was a kid had an Imp and I always liked the look of it. When I got my first car, I made the awful mistake of buying a Talbot Horizon, which cost all the money I had at the time, and promptly fell apart within a year. Having next to no money, and needing something cheap, I bought a rustbucket of an Imp which I drove around for a few years and loved it. I've had about 6 or 7 Imps since then, normally just as a second car, but I've never had the one I really want, the coupe version (Singer Chamois, or Sunbeam Stilleto, or Imp Californian)

One day, probably when I retire, I will have one, if there are any left. Don't tell the wife though, she hates them.

Second favourite car is the 911 Turbo. I had one 20 years ago, just like this

Unfortunately I will never have one of those again, as the prices skyrocketed since I sold mine and I'd never be able to afford to buy it back again.

Big bastard thing with the turning circle of a Mini.

Any of you lot ever drove a Fiat Uno turbo?

Cars nowadays have no soul, you can just picture the kids growing up and telling their children...

"My first car was a Kia Picanto 1.0L"

"Then I got a pay rise at work and treated myself to a Vauxhall Astra 1.6d"

"Then I got a new job and it come with a company car, which was a BMW 114d"

"Then we had kids so I got a Citroen Picasso"
