We won't get anybody better than Tom Huddlestone in midfield. Really? We won't? That's a pretty bold statement, even for you. I'm tired of saying you're wrong. So now, I'm going to say that it's Tickler. So, Tickler again, I'm afraid.
Agree. Powell and Ramirez would be great additions, alongside a dog of war in the middle, to give us a bit more guile going forward.
Blaming a single player for being relegated is stupid. He was one of our best players last season, and one of Norwich's this season.
Completely agree. Anyone who watched Norwich's games regularly last season know that he stood out as one of their most threatening attacking players. His corner kicks and set pieces were lethal, he was a much improved player from his previous injury hit seasons with us, and he is excellent in covering back on defense. If we could get him for anything close to what Norwich paid us for him I'd snap him up. I also agree with those who think Remy would make an excellent partner for Abel up front and Hughes is exactly what we need in mid-field. although I doubt we have a chance of getting him. I hope we'll give a new contract to Jak who is hugely underrated in my opinion, and I just don't see the need to bring in a 17-year old unproven GK (Mannion) and let Jak go. Just some of my thoughts on summer signings. KingFut is reporting that Elmo is hoping to sign a new contract and stay with us. If he can get back to his Premiership form thats good news.
Elmo, Hudd to get new deals, 1-year extension to be triggered for Jak, Aluko released: http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Sone...ffered-deals/story-29348888-detail/story.html
I agree, that is stupid. It's a good job therefore that nobody blamed a single player for being relegated. Brady really wasn't one of our best players last season and if you put him in our team today he wouldn't improve it.
I'm still not convinced by all 3, Jak's done well, but why sign Kuciak in January if we're keeping Jak? If we're having 3 keepers then I'd rather have 2 experienced & a younger one, it must be awful being a young keeper at a club these days. I'm surprised people still want to play in goal at all TBH. Elmo has been poor this season & although he did ok at the end, was it really enough? Hudds similar to Elmo, but for me he is the only one out of the 3 I'd keep, harsh maybe, but are they all being given contracts on sentiment? Unless any have triggered extensions?
Jak was the third keeper behind Harper, and I suspect Jak only kept second place for most of this season because Kuciak was unfit for most of the run in after knee surgery. I think Kuciak is seen as the number 2 and Jak as number 3.
Think you are wrong Mr.Hat, Bruce wants to be even more defensive next season, so is only buying goalies and if we are lucky a defender.
Someone's going to get an excellent freebie in Aluko. I reckon a fresh start will de him turn it on again.
The 3 keepers we've got are not good enough as a collective. Jak and Kuciak (I assume) are fine as back up but only to a really good keeper. if we're keeping Mcgregor then he should be as back-up to someone else, unless of course he wont accept that. Basically, we need a new number 1 - I would argue more than any other position in the first XI - and the back-up should be decided after we have that in place.
None of us in here know how good Kuciak is, bar Sterling who's assesment I haven't seen. Otherwise I think I agree with your point although not as a matter of priority. I think I'd sooner spend the money on outfielders, then if we survive splash the cash on a proper quality keeper next season.
If we wait until next season, we'll be in the Championship. Who in Bruce's - not yours - first XI needs replacing more than Mcgregor?
