For Chinese head to China Red in Dunswell. It's streets ahead of any of the other chineses in teh area.

For American Food Aunt Bibby's is pretty good, shame Purple Pig shut down. Rebels in Beverley is also good.

For simple food at a decent price head to Sleepers on the Avenues (another branch in Beverley). Decent mix of Burgers, pasta, steak etc.

Level on Newland Ave is good for Italian, decent price and food is really tasty.

I know you said Hull but Carluccio's in Beverley is good to go to if you're trying to impress a bird but secretly aren't that ****ed about her.
Going to China Red in a few weeks so thats out.

Sleepers has been done recently too. Not tried Level.

Don't be so parochial Chazz.

I'm currently holed up in a place called The Angel, just outside Bristol.

Menu is fairly cosmopolitan. Includes Moules et frite, hilariously named burgers and they have an eminently quaffable local micro-brewary ale.

Five hours in the car there. Five hours back.

She'll melt like an Arctic Roll in the Sahara.
Sounds rather splendid Ern.
Its a nice place is Bristol ive had a couple of weekends out in Bristol

Shoot the bull is resident chef at the Old House now. So we're talking a chef that's worked at multiple Michelin star restaurants.

The missus should be suitably impressed by the effort you've made and it's also the perfect excuse for a few pre and post bevvies round the old town.

The only caveat being, some of the food may be served up on enamel plates and mugs.

Without sounding like a ponce my favourites in the area are The Westwood in Bev and The Star in Sancton.

In Hull I'd go for 1884.
Ponce.

Chazz, take her to The Deep. They do meals in the evening.

Frigging love that place, it's like the aquarium I'll get when I win the Lotto.

See, with some careful comma placement, that statement can mean all sorts of things.

Glad you're learning new tricks too, you old dog.

He did the food at the Minerva Gin Festival. Mrs said they were the best chips she's ever had. The burger was good too. Its a really small menu though innit? I cant take her out for burger and chips.
