If the Premier League doesn't enforce the rule it may leave them open to a legal claim from an irate supporter denied a concession.

    Yeah right.

Find me a lawyer willing to take that claim on, faced with R7 to work with.

The Premier League Handbook has a bit of a coverall, that states that 'the spirit of the law must be followed, not just the letter of the law.'

    Right...

You may want to do some googling on legal funding.

Even more vague. Gentlemans agreement sort of stuff.

Try arguing what spirit means. The best the PL could hope for is a media shaming campaign. A legal fight would be a waste of time.

Was it you that argued that City's use of the ASI money was against the rules/spirit set up by the Prem?

    It was a joke.

As it would be a small claims application the costs would be the cost of issuing the proceedings plus anything the court awards within the legislation. Some solicitor interested in football may do it for nothing. Or we could have a collection for the legal fees.

    Small claims application for what?

I knew it was a joke. I mentioned googling as a parody of your earlier post.

The ASI fund didn't have any rules, that was the problem.

I meant what would you sue for... You don't file a claim for that in the small claims court... You have to value a claim.

I'm going to shut up now anyway. I've been up nearly 24 hours! And it's still another hour in this cab. I'm regretting it has wifi...

Odd. I was sure someone said they'd seen them when I argued that no rule or even spirit of a rule had been broken. If the search function worked, and if I could be arsed, I'd link to the conversation.

Hey Ho, t'is done, and there it is.

I know you're right about the 'musts' and the 'shoulds' but it looks fairly clear that the 'should' relates to the fact that any concession has to meet the needs of the community, whereas it is clear that there 'must' be concessions for kids and codgers

Did someone say the Premier League had been approached about it already?

It was a bit back when I looked at it, then I got distracted. I was looking to see if there was an argument the club could use along the lines of, there are concessions available, conditional to being in certain areas.

The club may use that argument, although I really don't think it could be deemed a 'concession' for specific age groups of anyone can get it at the same price

It's really just up to the Premier League what they want to do about it. It's their house and they can decide the rules

...interesting to see what they do

It most certainly will be interesting.

I wonder how much influence the history of the name change will have on the pl's thinking.
