We struggled for creativity in the Premier league and our midfield build up was slow and ponderous at times, I really think what is needed is a dynamic young midfielder who has a bit of pace, and vision, I`ve said it once and I`ll say it again, Will Hughes looks to fit the bill perfectly, if we could get him. I do think we need a new number one, but that`s a personal thing, and of course another striker to compliment Abel and take the burden off his shoulders.

"Abel, you look nice today!"

Surely Sone is gone whichever league we're in, as we wont want him and he wont want to stay. The most important thing for him next season is to play 30 games no matter at what level. There's such a good player there and I think 50% of the problem is in his head.

You know to get someone as good or better than Sona Aluko would cost alot. As you say part of the problem could be in his head. I would offer him another contract along with Jakupovic, Hudds and Elmo. THE SQUAD UNITY is something that should not be messed with. Learn the lessons from past summers. Especially the summer of 2009.

The summer priroity for NEW players coming in has to be up front. Hernandez needs help as we rely on him way too much.

I'm afraid to say that Sone has had his chances......to not replace him could cost even more. Pointless doling out contracts of £25k pw out of loyalty or just to fill a squad place

Are we a better set up though? I'd see what McCormack would cost, up to £8 million might be worth it, then go for a young lower league scorer, Winnal at Barnsley or Roofe at Oxford. Maybe trial Roofe & see how he does pre season.
I'm sure we'll have a better idea who's available when a lot of teams retained lists are announced.

I would make moves for Ricky Lambert(wba) who is proven at PL level and holds the ball up well. Would make a great foil for Hernandez.
Lambert would not cost much and reports suggest he wants out of Wba anyway.

The likes of Tom Bradshaw - Walsall, Will Grigg - Wigan, Matt Taylor - Bristol Rovers would be good punts and not break the bank on fees / wages and all with points to prove / hungry for success.

I would also like us to try for Isaac Hayden and Alan Judge(Brentford) again would not break the bank.

As for Ross McCormack,,, i would not rule it out. Over to the likes of Snodders and Robbo to sell him the club this coming week. wink wink.

This exactly, yes it's harsh on some, but ultimately, they've had their chances & not taken them. Would anyone really offer Hudds a new contract on the basis of the play off first leg & the final? Or Elmo on his past seasons? There's far too many times they've not performed & giving them new contracts now is pointless.

On Sone Aluko you look into the whites of his eyes and ask him what ambitions he has for the future and move accordingly. I would also offer less than what he gets now. Whatever it is.

As for Elmo and Hudds they are proven PL players. Yes both leaves you angry at times but Hudds especially is what we need for the PL. Class is permanant - form temporary.

Our main priroity has to be STRIKERS though.

Aluko has done sweet f.a. for the past two to three seasons, he has not been the same player since his last major injury, he flatters to deceive, when he isn`t falling on his arse. Should be telling him thank you and goodbye.

Which nicely leads me on to...

Everytime I press the start button on my car a message flashes up saying 'Depress clutch before starting engine', (unless I've remembered to depress the clutch, in which case it just starts) and every time I say "Clutch, you're a **** and everyone hates you."

It makes me laugh and pisses off the Missus something chronic.

Win, win.

Daniel Bentley is available for free next month, hopefully we go back in because he looks a top keeper. McGregor first choice with Bentley and Kuciak as back up. Jakupovic has been a good servant this season but it is time we move on.

Charlie Austin.
We had him once, so we were interested.
Only a second opinion at his medical scuppered the deal.
And he's scored goals in the Premier League since.
Worth a punt.

If we signed Gestede we'd be relegated. Liverpool tried to get Hughes last season before injury and the bidding went north of £10m.
