On the Accy OS before play off 1st leg... http://accringtonstanley.co.uk/2016/05/coley-wants-right-wrongs/

Billy Kee turned and fired home Piero Mingoia’s cross in March but referee Trevor Kettle blew for half-time as the ball left Kee’s foot. The goal didn’t stand and the Reds ended up with a point instead of the three they felt they should have had.

“Mistakes happen in football and we have suffered from a lot of decisions this season,” said Coleman. “You can’t change it and there is nothing you can do about it. There was an incident at Northampton where the assistant didn’t raise his flag to send off Ryan Cresswell even though he shouted at the referee too. We played well at Northampton and lost but, had they been down to 10-men, you don’t know what could have happened. I firmly believe we are a top three team in this league and we have not done ourselves justice.I am still on a downer but I love football"

Colemans excuse for the 0-0 vs Stevenage which promoted us.... it was the pitch that stopped Accrington. Remember mind, the game was played on Accys pitch <laugh><doh> The same pitch that they hadnt failed to score on all season apart from that specific game, the game that mattered!

Here is his excuse for losing the 1st leg at Wimbledon... you couldnt make up could you. He has the whole week to prepare for the 1st leg and the travelling will be the same for Wimbledon for the 2nd leg <doh>

Watch from 3 mins 31 secs to the end.

How about last nights interview! Here it is. Watch from the start to hear his response to the 1st question which to me was a bit sad as he knew what the interviewer meant. Then skip to 7 mins 13 secs and hear his excuse for last nights result. That pitch again! His pitch.

A Strange Man from an increasingly sounding strange club, I spent an afternoon not so long ago in one of the boxes at Old Trafford and shared that time with one of Stanley's players, a really nice guy, although I noticed that he was benched for both legs of the Wimbledon tie !

I told him he should have come down and played for us :1980_boogie_down:

Accy have got a few decent players who are probably worth a punt at a higher level. I think they would have given Plymouth a game in the final. Can't see Wimbledon getting past Plymouth, although they won 2-1 at Home Park, while Plymouth won 3-2 in London. Should be interesting.

I wanted Wimbledon to do it out of the four teams... Be a tough one to call?
I watched the millwall game, and thought both sides attack at speed. And are both good at finishing. We will need to be on our game next season with some of these sides..

I find myself in an unexpected, but very satisfying position today - having booked today off work months ago, on the possibility of us being at Wembley today, its great sitting back and relaxing at home, letting Plymouth and Wimbledon fans do the stressing and worrying instead. I think its very hard to call the result of today's game and I would not be surprised to see it go to extra time at least. if not penalties. Not good for the nerves if you're involved, as we all know too well! Personally I would prefer Wimbledon to win, mainly because I think we would do better against them next season than we would against Plymouth, and also because I had a very unfortunate encounter many many years ago, with some Neanderthal Plymouth meatheads who had a combined IQ of a cornflake, and managed to make life very unpleasant for a while. Rightly or wrongly, I have always tarred every Plymouth supporter with the same brush since and would like nothing more to see them publically humiliated at Wembley today. As you can see, I'm not one to bear a grudge!! :emoticon-0181-fubar

Neighbour just told me that one of the founders of AFC said he was looking forward to the day when AFC would be above the old Wombles team, If they get promoted today that will happen when the new blank tables are published giving the names of the teams in that league after all AFC comes before MK, one happy bunny

To be honest I'm sick of hearing about the Wimbledon/MK Dons thing.

Serves Plymouth's fans right though for invading the pitch after they beat Pompey. Like they had already been promoted...

The old saying 'Pride comes before a fall' springs to mind with both Accrington and Plymouth. Accrington were convinced 3rd spot was signed and sealed before that last Saturday of the season, and certain Plymouth supporters I have come across have shown no dignity in their arrogance and dismissal of Wimbledon's chances in the final today. I am so pleased that Wimbledon put them in their place today. I hope both teams enjoy another season in league 2 wondering ' what might have been'. That's one thing that following Rovers for years has taught us on many painful occasions - take nothing for granted and prepare to do things the hard way! Unfortunately, we have cocked things up so often in the past, its very rare to hear a Gashead getting arrogant or cock sure about anything these days!
