Did anybody watch it? I've just caught it on iPlayer and switched it off half-way through. What a load of crap. Evans is annoying. Le Blanc is wooden. They've tried to copy the old show but change little bits and its fallen flat on its face. The challenges were pointless/not fun. The new track/reasonably price car dragged on. The whole thing felt flat. For the small part she was in it, Sabine was good though. Viewing figures will be okay for this one as people will be interested but it's going to quickly decline if it continues like that. (In two weeks it's up against the Euros). Somewhere, I imagine the old trio will be quite smug. Twitter, DigitalSpy and some newspapers already slating it.
Evans was way over the top. Too much 'wow audience, isn't this great?!!!'. Really liked LeBlanc tho. I think him and Sabine, plus one other (apparently rory and chris did well on the bbc3 show) might be a good mix. Show was a bit of a mess really. Evans too much power? I'll see if it's better next week.
Indeed. It is what it is for the series now. Just hope that Evans tones himself down for the studio bits. I suppose the 'stars in rally cross cars' is all filmed now. But him telling the audience to clap at a turn in the lap and his local takeaway guys sat on a car really grated with me. It's not TFI, Chris. Leblanc infinitely more watchable during first ep.
i think it could be half decent if evans wasn't there i can't bare the twat, should replace him as soon as new filming takes place, rather gordon ramsey than evans thought matt was okay as much as i love the old trio i think top gear and them had reached it's end anyway, it was stale and there wasn't much more they could do, this new show and greater budget on amazon will freshen things up
I thought the same as most, that Evans was overbearing and missing the dry wit and sarcasm which top gear is about. I though Le Blanc was great in some bits, however, especially when driving the Ariel Nomad. He had the right mix of passion about the cars and comedy.
Evans was cack, he has turned it into panto. Was waiting for him to say "are we having a good time boys and girls". Was like wringing the last drops out of a wet rag. LeBlanc was better than I expected but a bit wooden.
Why was Evans trying to sound like Clarkson? Love or hate Clarkson he has his own style that can't be copied without looking like a fool.Or was that supposed to be tongue in cheek? They really need to put there own spin on it. Was a copy of the old show and was a poor copy at that.
To me it showed that Clarkson, like him or loathe him, has a better presenting style and he is far more pleasant to listen to than Evans. He gelled with his other presenters in a way which Evans never will. I think Clarkson would have liked to get Sabine on when he had the show as his admiration for her after filming with her at the Nurburgring.
I think it will take them a season to make the show their own I found Chris a bit shouty to be honest, I would have liked Guy Martin in as the third presenter and he could have introduced Motorcycles to the format this would have given it something new as well
I had forgotten it was on. Turned on part way through, turned off a few minutes later. It was excruciating. I might give it a 2nd chance but it will need to improve out of all recognition to get me back a 3rd time.
The thing is after watching that debacle last night, will there be a second series? Clarkson must be chortling away.
I missed it, will watch it on iplayer later in the week though just to check, but from what I can gather, it's the old show with new presenters. That was never going to work. It needed a whole new set up, new everything. If you replaced one of the old presenters it could have worked, but all 3 all at once, was never going to be easy.
Even the introduction to the Stig was identical. Some say !! Or was it just me that though the audience was plastic too? Maybe to early to say but I thought it was crap.
Vowed not to watch it after they booted Clarkson off it, then May and Hammond left, especially after I learned that the ginger ninja was presenting it, talentless twat comes to mind.
They didn't "boot him off", he was sacked for punching a colleague, as anyone would be in that situation.
so booted off and sacked don`t mean the same thing ??????? the art of pedantry !!!!!!!!!!!!! well done sir
