They haven't discussed the game yet, they're too busy with threads about what time they're setting off, who's bringing each inflatable and what colour balloons they're supposed to bring.

Great effort. You're how old? And keep coming all the way over from Australia. It mast take considerable effort on your part. (That wasn't supposed to sound patronising!)

    Cap doffed.

I just had a look at this list.

Sam Allardyce is in the top half of the list with just 200-odd days in charge of Sunderland. Mental.

I've worked on the outskirts of Sheffield since last August and, having not been there for a good decade or so, i imagined it to be quite a cool place and on a par with Leeds. On our first work night out in the city centre I was shocked, it's absolutely a massive **** hole. It's like Hull was 10 years ago. Really ****ing rough with everyone pissed at 7pm to drown out their despair at being shoehorned in to godawful disco pubs.

It was the worst night out Ive had in years and I havent been on a work night out since.

calling bullshit on that.....Sheffield is an awesome city, lived here 17 years and won't move through choice! If it's your least favourite place in Yorkshire you can't have been to Bradford, Leeds, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster, Middlesbrough, Pontefract, Wakefield etc. etc.

when I lived in hull and visited london I would go into rubbish pubs all the time
when I moved to london it was different - everybody knew the good places to go even if they were one place in a hundred

On the night out I reference, i was the only person from a group of 10+ who doesn't live in Sheffield. I was assured we'd been to the best places.

I'd blanked it from memory. But not quite top, of all those places Boro ranks #1 (if classed as Yorkshire) if not, Barnsley is the dump of all dumps.

There's pretty much nowhere in the UK I haven't been. I still maintain Sheffield is ****e. It's only saving grace is it's proximity to the Peak District. Other than that, it is a giant sized turd of a place.

You must have been unfortunate to be taken to the wrong places is all, every city has it's turd holes. A third of Sheffield is actually inside the peak district boundaries, it's technically the 'greenest' city in the country with more trees per capita than any other. Doesn't excuse the mass hordes of Wednesdayites who've suddenly come out of the wood work like, but still. Lovely place

When I was an auditor I was in Chesterfield at the Post Office Pension Fund and on the last day of the audit the partner and manager visited. They took us out of Chesterfield into the woods (by car!) and eventually we arrived at a clearing where there was a large single storey building. When we went inside there was tables and armchairs set in depressions in the floor so you felt like there was nobody else in the place. I can't remember what the food and drink was like but the ambiance was certainly impressive.

The Green city and trees thing is bollocks. It's the opposite of why we score low on these stats things, because the boundary includes bits of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The 'greenest city in the world' that was claimed about Sheffield was actually nothing to do with how much green there is there, it was just based on the level of recycling.
