How did the ground look in that?

    Couldn't see the race!

Churchill looked like he will have improvement in him over a mile. Don't get me wrong, he showed plenty of speed there today and on looks alone, he could be the best Aidan has trained.

Being a January 1st foal, Churchill has got to be the oldest two year old in training. He is already halfway to matching his dam’s previous foal’s achievement – three year old Curlylocks has two thirds from four career races.

What a horse Jet Setting Is when she has her conditions. Glad I wasn't too far out when I tipped her here for the English version, track and ground unsuitable that day but was worth a punt at the prices that day due to her ability. Miles clear of the 3rd. O'Brien can't be too disheartened, got beat by a very worth opponent.

Anyway, on a serious note...is the Irish Open going to get finished today??? Bloody thunder and lightning is relentless here now <yikes>

I wouldn't get upset about it. Jet setting just liked the ground alot better than her. A deserving winner. They pulled along way clear of the rest. Minding should still be beating anything on decent ground.

Which immediately brings up the question would I want to back her for the Arc at 14/1 and hope that it does not come up soft at Chantilly in October?

Jet Setting got her ground and took advantage, so Minding nothing lost in defeat, but there will be horses in the Arc that relish soft ground.

Any thoughts about the 12f trip firstly gents?

Thought she was staying on pretty well at the end there but she still has to go and prove this extra half mile. Having said that, I haven't got anything down as of yet to beat her in the Oaks, although I do have a few performances to have a look at before deciding.

Longchamp is undergoing a revamp so Chantilly hosts this seasons renewal, hence we could get a barmy result.

Backed Santa Monica at 40s on the exchanges at the Curragh here. Taking a loosely-educated punt on the trip and ground. I like Mastercraftsmen on soft and this horse shaped unequivocally as if he needed beyond a mile in some nice maidens and a Group 3 last year. Hoping it isn't tilting at Windmills and should be ridden to come fast and late- which might play out well in this ground if they go a bit hard early on.

Thanks, TopClass, QMII is way more up-to-date than I am! Must be blind as a bat and missed the Longchamp renovations!

    Great stuff, Ste, well done!

Being a daughter of Galileo she should get the trip. She does travel really well but her turn of foot is her party piece. So long as she settles at what would most likely be a more sedate pace I can't she her being beaten on decent ground. Somehow is the only horse in the oaks that has proved herself over the distance that I could fancy. Everything else at the top of the market have only been tried at a mile or less.

The Grand Steeplchase de Paris (3:10) is a tough one to call, but I give 2014 winner Storm Of Saintly the nod. R/F with last year's winner Milord Thomas too.
