Repaid them ten fold by us being in the premiership that has boosted businesses all around Wales not just Swansea...

Not surprised to see Trollope get the job. Slade did improve the areas asked of him, shame none of it was on the pitch. However, Trollope is, apparently, highly regarded in the football world. So why not give him the opportunity to shine. VT has stated nothing less than a play-off position is acceptable. How long will he give Trollope to prove he is up to the challenge? VT has backed his managers and shown confidence in their ability to manage. It hasn't sat well with some, but backing your elected manager is the right thing to do.
He backed MM too much and paid a heavy financial price given MM's free and foolish spending. MM, ultimately got himself sacked by thinking he was better than his ability and thought his 'fans favourite' tag would see him remain in a job he wasn't up to.
OGS was, well he wasn't too good, but it was clear VT didn't want to make the same mistake and got rid much sooner than I thought he would.
Slade came in with a set of tasks and largely fulfilled them. He clearly failed on the league position as the goal posts were moved to suit our league position.
I don't think anything has changed with the appointment of Trollope except he will have to produce on the field of play. I believe he has been told to make it more exciting and draw the crowds back after enduring a season of turgid, uninspiring and downright awful football. If he is to get us into a play-off position, he will need to be canny on the transfer front. His lower league education may pay off with some astute purchases and the odd gem found or it may back fire spectacularly. This remains to be seen. Many have said our team of players does not reflect the football played nor our final league position this year. We will never know unless we keep the same squad of players.

...and yet if we had stuck by him we would still be a premiership club (IMHO of course). Strange how those baying for MM's head still think we are better off without him. Blame Tan for our demise for a string of dreadful decisions beginning with the sacking of Mackay.

Have to say I think Taff has hit all the nails on the head with his post. I agree that Malky would have kept us up Whiffle but when your manager is siphoning off transfer fees into his own pot he probably has to go

When it results in him buying players you wouldn't normally buy so he can take a bigger cut then, yes, he probably does.
Tan's massive investment under MM used well could have set us up for the next decade.
We'd have been relegated under MM imho, the decline had already begun and you'd need very selective memory to not remember that.
A slightly less subjective way of looking at whether we'd have stayed up is how many of our squad from that season are PL regulars now? I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying none. Caulker, Mutch, Campbell are all in squads getting very little if any game time. The rest are playing at a lower level, Championship etc. Maybe Medel is an exception but for £11m you'd expect him to be.

MM had to be sacked, but i will say he was led astray by his sidekick, greedy pair of idiots, who obviously thought they would not get caught. Tan was right to get rid of him he was absolute poison.
You must be joking MM thought he was untouchable.His use of Tans money was inexcusable,and he deserved the sack,but who sanctioned the transfers ,why were they not sacked to.I wont go into the telephone calls MM made because that was not football related,but it did not help his case.

Personally, I don't think MM would have kept us up. I don't think he was sacked merely on the league position we were in at the time. He had a public battle with VT and that's what lost him his job.
I really hope he gets it. No offence, but the sooner he leaves the CCS the better so Trollope can get on with the job with his own people.
