But is it fair that Sheff we'd, hull and Derby could rest players last couple games knowing they were in play offs where as Brighton we're going full on to try get last place?

Brighton could have rest players too. Its also happened in other seasons that 3rd and 4th had the places wrapped up but were miles away from 2nd whereas 6th were battling to hold. Is it fair then that those higher teams get to rest? Its just unfortunate brighton drew the short straw this year.

Nope that's why top e should go up. Or maybe we should have only 2 go down each season and then the next bottom 4 go into a play off and 2 losers go into a final game and loser goes down?

That's equally unfair on someone, somewhere in the equation. Look, in all FAIRNESS the top three should go up, the bottom three go down. Or two up, two down, as in olden days. But as soon the league decided to make it more 'entertaining'... well, this is hat happens when sport becomes a spectator event. Penalties shoukld never decide any final, but there you go...

Who would want to watch those games? Where is the entertainment value?

You just have to accept the play-offs for what they are. For a league as big as the championship they are necessary because otherwise you'd have about 10-15 clubs playing for nothing through the season and it would call into question their motivation to actually give 100% into the games.

When you finish 3rd and don't go up then it leaves a sour taste in the mouth but I doubt you'd be complaining had you gone up in 2014 when you finished 6th in the play-offs?

Do you not think that then, the way the fixtures fall would play a much bigger part in how the season pans out? The teams from 6th-16th would probably be nowhere close to promotion or relegation after about January-ish, which would mean a possible lack of motivation in their remaining fixtures. I don't think that would actually be 100% fair either.

Yes, I totally agree with that. Sorry if I'm not making my case clear. 'Fairness' is a concept, and a subjective one at that. So is entertainment. Money, sponsorship, revenue - they're objective concepts. They like the drama as their viewers like the drama. The League like the money of the TV companies. They must provide drama. It's Corrie or Eastenders, but unscripted. Except when Webb officiated Uniturd matches.

the problem utd now have is de gea wants to bugger off and play for real any way, if they do as he says, he can see they are weak and in the future he can keep making demands.

well worked for rooney and his pay rises i suppose.

Lots of yoonited fans all over the Internet bleating about De Gay wanting out of OT(again), the "we did everything for him", "SAF made him the keeper he is today" etc etc is very amusing when looking back at what they said about Sterling having the right to leave us and how we never discovered him in the first place and how he was never a Liverpool fan etc etc.
Why wouldn't the lad want to go home to his native Madrid and be close to his family?, why wouldn't he want to play CL football every season?
Answers on the back of a postage stamp please.:)

Why would they pay the most money ever for a PL GK who wasn't already "made"?

All Ferguson did is **** him about for the first 6 months by putting him in and out of the team.

They typically play Götze upfront if needed and others. Also Can has always played right back for them over the past year or so

Everyone else is a "midfielder" so they might as well have chucked Can in there too.

Schweinsteiger captain is because they do it by age and he's the most ancient. But if he actually plays it almost balances out us having Rooney, 10v10.
