I think they're more reliable than Bild, which doesn't say much lol. They are the most reliable sports outlet in Germany though

But I think he's a brilliant young keeper - good distribution, excellent reflexes and very quick off his line. I would have preferred Timo horn but not too fussed. Excellent price as well.

Piotr Zielinski's reps have revealed talks are at an advanced stage with one club & it could lead to a signature in the next few hours. #lfc

Never heard of the keeper to be honest.

Not surprised that being linked with some, wonder if Mig will be shifted on or kept as number 2. As a number 2 he'd be great but I have a feeling he won't be happy with that.

He's already spent some time in England so shouldn't have a problem adapting - still unsure if he counts towards HG quota.

At 22, he represents an exciting risk.

22 is young for a keeper.. Can't see him replacing Mig right away.

I don't think it matters - Courtois and De Gea started young, so did Reina I think.

I'd sooner have Karius start for us and make mistakes, than Migs doing the same. Difference is, Karius is younger and more likely to learn from them.

Plus he comes off his lines and comes out for crosses. :)

Yup bjt Courtois and de few were playing regular CL football and were clearly great keepers. This guy is at the equivalent of Palace? I'm not saying he's not great just that will he be ready to be a first team player right away in a new club country for s team looking to challenger for the CL places and more....?

Fair point - and chances are, he won't be ready. He is young, raw and will make mistakes - similar to DDG when he first arrived.

Give him time and let him develop - a lot of potential, and I think he's already better than Migs. There are rumours that were looking at a GK coach!

Thats the thing. I'm not sure getting someone in at similar level and letting them battle is ideal scenario. Id rather buy someone better and make Mig number 2, but easier said than done I guess. As long as he's better than Bogdan I guess it's some improvement!

Meh I'll wait to reserve judgement on him if he signs.

Migs isn't great but can anyone really say he's better than Migs before he's even played in the PL?

Yep, playing well for Mainz is completely different to playing well for Liverpool in the PL.

    No offence to Mainz ofc

De Gea made his debut at At Madrid when was 19.

Courtois was 21 when he first played for At Madrid.

Reina was 20 when he played for Villareal.

Cech was 21 when he joined Chelsea from Genk.

Karius at 22 has a lot of experience and games under his belt, and is joining us at the right time.

Don't know why you've asked me that?

Never said the lad wasn't good enough, just saying that you've said he's good enough to come straight into the team and take over from Migs, yet the lad is playing for Mainz, and like I said, no offence to Mainz.

If we get him then great, he can't be worse than Bogdan and hopefully he'll be better than Migs!

But I'll wait and see him perform for us before I say whether or not he's better than Migs .

    <ok>
