I've just read the West Ham supporters smashed Man Utd's coach, I'm speechless, I thought all that had stopped.
Absolutely no excuse for the coach-smashing, obviously. But why were Man U turning up late AGAIN? Is this a new tactic of theirs? Or is there something that makes them set off late - even though they (presumably) have stayed overnight in London?

LVG claims they weren't late, that they were 100 yards behind the Spanners' coach. Supposedly the crowds were physically stopping the coach from arriving.

That's LVG's side of the story so take with a pinch of salt, I suspect there's a bit of truth to both sides.

Three players have threatened to leave if LVG stays. Fergie has given his endorsement for Mourinho which means nothing because he gave his endorsement to Moyes and look what happened there. Be quiet Ferguson.

Who knows how Moyes would have done if the board had given him the funds that LVG has had.

I think United should remove Ferguson back to Scotland and stop scaring the crap out of the managers!....and the players.

Absolutely love seeing that tosser get pelters. God gave him one of them smug faces that you wouldn't feel guilty if you punched it on a daily basis.

He will probably be full of hate because the team he used to play for stays up so he might be fired up.

I feel very deeply for the fans of relegated clubs having remembered 76/77 when Spurs were relegated. Fortunately I was quite popular so nobody mocked me but the teasing Newcastle supporters must be taking will be awful.

I can't see Villa bouncing straight back up but I'm not sure about Norwich and Newcastle.

The last time Newcastle were relegated they kept the majority of their squad together: Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Kevin Nolan, Alan Smith and Nicky Butt all had the quality and experience to build a team on top of, Jonas and Jose Enrique had bedded in and were improving, Harper and Ameobi were reliable long-time players, Carroll and Guthrie made the most of their chance to break into the team, and they made some canny signings in Lovenkrands and Routledge.

That's the worry they have this summer: they're going to have trouble keeping hold of Wijnaldum, Sossoko, Janmaat, de Jong and Gouffran, while Townsend's £8m relegation release clause has been activated, so that's a fair amount of rebuilding that needs to be done this summer.
