My formative years were spent going to every home game when you could pay at the turnstile to get into the Stretford End and seeing Utd flatter to deceive. The first season I went regularly we won the first 10 games of the season and then fell away as Liverpool triump
When the school reports are written at the end of this week, Arsenal will be commended for doing as well as can be expected, whereas Utd will be chastised for underperforming, but far better results will be expected - and predicted - for next term

I'm sure this has been 'expected' and 'predicted' for the last three years. It still hasn't happened.

Me too. ****ers the lot of them.

Apart from Antonio. He's one heck of a player, and further proof that there is more than enough reasonably priced talent in the lower leagues to make the exorbitant fees for Depay, Darmian, Blind, Rojo and Herrera seem all the more ludicrous <doh>

There was no indication that he was worth £38m before the season, and indeed there is nothing guaranteed now. Very unwise to spend vast amounts based on one season work, plus the wages would be ludicrous too. I would regard him as "a success" not "a bargain". Mind you, compared to the other names bought for their £300m+, perhaps he is a bargain!

I bet you we do Smithy. After everyone else. Then when it comes to the business end of the season we will be allocated Monday night football.

Did a quick check on 2010-11.
We effectively played on saturdays after CL group/KO stages, except for twice when the
opponent was a "Sky 4" (in which case it got scheduled for sunday) .

I'd say he was probably worth the £18m figure we were initially quoted though, Martial had a reputation in France as the heir to Henry (although so does 50 others) and was impressing at Monaco. Not sure why our deal broke down or why Utd ended up paying an extra £20m just a few weeks later but the player looks like he could've added a different dimension to our attack.

So far owners of West Ham have blamed the police Man Utd and a FEW hotheads for the violence last night no blame on WH then

The FA are to investigate what chance they have to play their next home game behind locked doors

Wet Spam linked with Jamie Vardy.

That can't be right, given their current transfer policy is waiting for us to be linked with a player before declaring an interest (as is the case with Batshuayi and Lacazette) or sign our former youth team players (as is the case with Townsend and Adam Smith)

First game at the new stadium? No chance.

Yeah but lets hope.

Either way, the stadium will have an empty feel to it regardless of whether it is or not.
Hopefully it'll be a nice early Europa League qualifier and they'll bottle their own players, having crashed to another loss to a Romanian side.
