I never rated him highly and he was very error prone in his first year. For that reason, I was expecting him to struggle to cope with the Renault and the Pirelli's but actaully I think he adapted well. Overall an impressive performance but I'm still not convinced that he deserves another shot at F1.
The chances of Heidfeld getting replaced is increasingly likely, but Senna faces competition from Grosjean as well, who is doing an excellent job in GP2.

i feel that he should be given a second driver seat alongside someone like Kubica or Barichello so that it is not as big a risk putting him in a race seat.
His driving is inconsistent. His placing of the car is rarely the same on each corner from lap to lap. He is - and to my memory always has been - very untidy.
We recently discussed Senna B in another thread where I acknowledged your points but I teach racing drivers and what I see of Senna B is a reasonably quick very untidy mess.
Fair enough and your opinion on this is probably more valid than mine so I will agree with you on that. However is his untidy style due to the car or the driver? Last season he was driving the terrible HRT which keeping it just on the track was an achievement, it lacked so much downforce that accuracy must of been very difficult to come by, you can see how the back end drivers have to hack away with the wheel. In regards to today he was in an unfamiliar car on unfamiliar tyres driving properly for the first time in ages, is it not reasonable that he is not going to be pin point straight away?
Yes, you have a point. Obviously these things are part of the consideration but a poor car can still be placed on the same piece of road with a consistent driver. The HRT is, by present day F1 standards, a bit of a dog and today he was in the much better Renault.
An unfamiliar car is a reasonable justification for untidiness while you adjust to many things but in all honesty it only takes a few laps to get oneself dialled in to any new car at this level. Remember that these guys are not novices! They are professional experts being paid huge sums of money for their ability to dial themselves into new ideas, new settings, new tyres, new conditions, new tracks, new tyres, new cars and new updates. Constantly! F1 never stands still and on the subject of new cars, updates can make drastic differences to the characteristic of Alonso's Ferrari too but it should not take more than three or four laps to dial oneself in and certainly be consistent with braking points and turn in.
In spite of my recent acknowledgement to the information you gave me, my opinion is that Senna B is not above average. And I mean this entirely from a driving perspective.
I think everyone criticises Senna because of his uncle, if his name was Jones people wouldn't be so judgmental of him. He was better than Chandhock at HRT, yet rarely is a bad word said about him in comparison. He was within a second of his team-mate, not great but not particularly bad. I hope he gets a chance to race this season, so we can evaluate him clearer than in a dog car. Some drivers step it up in a race (schumacher, Kobayashi, Button)
Absolutely! I do have to bow to Cosi's superior knowledge but he hasn't had a proper chance and, as Miggins says, he's better than Chandhok but people like Chandhok because he's charming: what a shocker in the Lotus last week! Bruno is, IMO, unfairly maligned. Do Renault have much to lose by giving him a race? Maybe there's the chance of a fourth place in the championship they they may feel they'd risk but I'd love to see him get a decent shot in a half-decent car.

Bruno said it was a one off but is hopeful that his performance (and not wrecking the car) may lead to more drives.
