A lot of people reckon Canelo won't end up fighting Golovkin. Is Golden Boy going risk a cash cow? The Mexicans love him and would pay big bucks to see him fight a night club bouncer. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the bout falls through. I think papers have been signed for the fight, so Canelo will have to give up his belt if they don't meet. Apparently he didn't look all that flash at the weigh-in, so maybe he'll move up a division. Who knows?
I can see Alvarez moving back down in weight to light middle. Golovkin has always said that he won't fight at the 155 catchweight that Canelo favours. Politics will get in the way and this fight will probably never end up happening. I'd like to see Golovkin move up to Super middleweight, theres some decent fights for him up there against better opposition
Brutal KO by Canelo last night, as most of us thought Khan was liable to fall for a power punch at some stage before the fight finished. Respect for having the stones to take the fight when he could easily have made Kell Brook his bitch in a domestic fight. Brook has fought nothing of note and Khan is a class above him. Whether he'd drop down to give Brook the pay day he's been begging him for, is another story. Brook would be badly exposed in it should it happen.

Brook beats Khan hands down, Khan won't cope with his power. If Khan is silly enough to take his right itll be his last before retirement because there'll be no way back for him

Never really bothered much with lighter weight fights until you put me into a few on this thread but there's some cracking fighters lurking down there one of which fights tonight, Naoyo Inoue who defends his super fly weight title in Japan. Gonzalez is inmense though and have to agree he has to be up there as one of pfp in world at the moment
Apart from a very tight decision over Shawn Porter, which could have went either way, who has Brook actually beaten??? Compare it with Khan's competition and I'd say sweet FA. Get the point about the power and Khan has a reputation for being chinny but think most would concede Khan has definitely operated at a level over Brook. Khan schools him for me over 12 mate, would be my very clear view on it.
Who had Khan fought and beaten? I agree he's operated at a higher level but he's been beaten 4 times now. Maidana best he's beaten but after that it's probably Devon Alexander, who lost his title to Shawn Porter, who then lost to Brook. I agree Brook needs some bigger fights but he'll have too much for Khan. Someone on this thread, I can't remember who and can't be arsed scrolling back through, was talking about Anthony Joshua and possibly Luke Campbell aswell and how we over hype our Olympians and get carried away with them. Khan is the perfect example of a hype job, he's been very very well promoted in his career to get to where he is now, with some carefully picked and well thought out opponents. He had no chin, and no discipline inside the ring. His biggest asset is his speed but he only uses that to his advantage sparingly. He knows how much of a risk fighting Brook is for him especially given he isn't even really known in America and if he were to lose to him then there's no way back for him and its career over. Brook wins comfortably for me and I'd be extremely confident about that. I'm not so confident that the fight will actually happen though Khan will find some other excuse not to take it
1) I think Golovkin will annihalate Canelo. Different skill set IMO. But it needs to take place for the good of boxing. I had a good long look at Canelos record recently. He beat an old Moseley, and then although Cotto is a tough old stick, he's pretty limited at middleweight (was strong at Welter). He's more famous for fighting Mayweather than he is for actually beating proper elite oppsition. Prior to the Mayweather fight, other than an ancient Shane Moseley, he had fought the likes of Matthew Hatton and Lovermore N'Dou
. I really like him- he's very strong at the weight, but I think he lacks the skills to be beating Golovkin? Really want to see it though.
2) I'm on the other side of the fence with this. Not sure Khan would make Kell his bitch with that chin of his. I think it would be very entertaining whilst it lasts and follow the familiar Khan tale- ahead on points early before flush punches slow him down.
Just remind me of the top fighters Khan has beaten apart from Maidana (who is a real brawler)? Even then he clung on for the final 4 rounds and had the old jelly legs going again.
Khans beaten other powderpuff punchers and nothing else. I know you don't like Eddie Hearn but Brook is a good timer of a punch and that could spell trouble for Khan when he starts making himself dizzy with his same old square on combinations. Having said that, Brook has an awful lot to prove himself but with that chin he has to have a chance against Khan.
Have you looked at Khans record now? WILLIE LIMOND, MICHAEL GOMEZ, JULIO DIAZ, BREIDIS PRESCOTT, DANNY GARCIA, CANELO have all knocked him down. Some knocked him spark out. That's people ranging from washed up lightweights to higher level operators. The chin is no longer reputation- it's fact.
Just glad we can now say without any doubt that Khan is not an elite level fighter and he can safely never again mention names like Mayweather in his interviews. It was tiresome and anyone who followed boxing closely knew just what a load of **** it was. But listen- he's at least $6m ahead of me in the income stakes, so who the **** am I to take the piss.
Brook still has plenty to prove also and if he's serious about being the best welter then he has to beat Khan, so it's a big fight for his career.
They are on the same level IMO as it stands-but the winner can then go on to elevate themselves to a unification fight, which for me would be Brook by a late stoppage with it close on the cards at the time.
Can't deny Khan's chinny, but the 3 times he's been knocked out I'd defy anyone to have withstood those punches? Canelo's possibly knock out of the year. I just think fair play to the lad, going up in weight taking on a fearsome puncher like Alvarez. He aimed for the top, came up short, no disgrace. You can say Khan has a questionable CV but Brook still has plenty to prove in my view.

Frankly I was staggered at the complete lack of intelligence amongst both Pacman and the people recently when he launched his verbal attack on homosexuals.
I saw all across social media thousands upon thousands of Filipinos backing his comments and how God agreed with him etc.
It was then I realised just how far behind he human race is still. Makes me sick. 2016 and we're still judging, still small minded enough to want everyone to be the same as us, and still worrying about stuff that just doesn't matter.
