True, but two of your victories were in in the 70s and you haven't won it since the format change and merge with the CWC. All four of Sevilla's victories have come since your last one, and their recent pedigree in the competition, and Europe in general, is vastly superior to yours. And if they beat you they will extend their margin as the most successful team (not joint )
It's all if and buts... We're better than them and we should beat them comfortably. You must have watched last night thinking '**** this Liverpool team are good'. I'm guessing the fear kicked in that next year will be our year? Nice try Swarbs but Klopp is going to ruin the Manc's party for years and years to come. Suck it up Swarbs you little girls blouse
You may be right. Unfortunately the same fear kicked in after your showings in 2009, 2011 and 2014, so I'm pretty much immune to it now But hey, if you say next year is your year, who am I to argue. I'll just add it to the annual bookmark collection
We hear this kind of bluster every season from all sets of fans. Spurs and Liverpool fans giving it big time this season. Truth is no one can predict **** for next season, if this season has taught us anything, its that. Man United dropping out of the top 4 yet again (most likely), Spurs finishing above Arsenal, Chelsea having a deltmown and being midtable, Leciester winning the ****ing league. No one could have predicted all of this. I am not going to make any concrete predictions for next season until all new managers have been appointed and all the signings have been made. I know dick all all about Conte except that he did ok at Juve (not exactly hard to win things in Italian football with Juve), so I have no idea whats in store for Chelsea next season. Man United, if they keep LvG, I doubt they will win the league, his football sucks donkey dick, though with a couple of decent signings they may find themselves back in the top 4. City will have Pep and will spend a fortune, depends on who they manage to sign Arsenal will have Wenger so will finish 4th in all likelyhood. Spurs, Liverpool and Leicester I don't have a clue. Again depends on who they manage to keep and who they manage to sign. The whole league is just one big wildcard right now. I love it.
If Liverpool win Europa then they get a CL place. Does that mean 4th in the PL drops down to Europa next season?
No, All top 4 teams get in the CL regardless, just means we will have 5 teams in it. The only way the 4th place team can miss out now, is if a PL club wins the CL, another PL club wins the EL and BOTH of those clubs finish outside the top 4. So it most likely will never happen
It would take a pretty perfect storm for it to happen. Although tbh it almost happened this season for English teams, and would have been quite likely to happen for Spanish teams too if Real and Atletico weren't both safe in the top four, so it may happen at some point in the future.
Yeah two teams from the same league win the CL and EL in the same season every now and then , but for BOTH of those teams to also finish outside the top 4. Its possible I suppose, but very unlikely.
It did happen when Chavbus won the CL and they finished 5th and the Spuds lost the spot and went into the Europa cup
Unfortutanetly I have more faith in Wenger today than I do Van Gaal. If that isn't a damning indictment of the Dutch quiff then nothing is.
Good day of results. West Ham's chances of top 4 virtually over. Was going to say I hope that means they don't try as hard in their game against us, but it'll be their last game at their home ground, so will probably want to go out on a high, who knows.
I have to say that, apart from a certain evening in Barcelona in 1999, that Bocelli showcase at Leicester was one on the best things I've seen in a football stadium. Are Leicester sponsored by Carlsberg.
He only misses 1 game doesn't he and Chelsea have 2 left, 1 away midweek and the last game next week a home one.
The 35-year-old centre-half will be banned for two games because it was his second dismissal of the season. That rules him out of Chelsea's final two Premier League fixtures, against Liverpool and champions Leicester.
