Nowhere else to put this so, great win for Anthony Crolla tonight. 7th round KO with a body shot after defending a lot of heavy shots in the first 4 rounds
In all likelihood Villa and Newcastle are down. Incredible season when two of our biggest clubs are relegated. And as I predicted Bournemouth (who I thought would do well at the start of the season) having a good season. The champions of the last season spending most of the season in the bottom half of the table and out of Europe whilst relegation favourites Leicester win the league by a significant margin. Leicester will still be around next season but there will be more of the traditional feel to the league (fingers crossed). But some things don't change. we will have the RS proclaiming that next year will be different and that at last they will win the premiership for the first time (kloppyflop is the reason this time). And AstroTurd predicting every year since Ferguson retired that the RS will finish above United. Plus ca change ...
Not enjoying this being a Gooner for the day lark, but I feel confident my new team will do well today.
All the more reason for my beloved Gooner United to thrash £££££, they can't make second because of Spurs superior goal difference but it all makes for some late pressure in the season for local rivals - certainly more to play for than ££££££
If they go level on points I fully expect it to be a battle of who bottles it first on the final day. Should be great.
Man Utd to finish 5th and Liverpool to win the Europa League and get CL football next season... Happy Holidays
So they get a goal and go down to 2nd gear. Piss poor tbh. City look like the only team playing for something. I suppose it was stupid putting ourselves in a position where we're relying on the gooners getting a result.
Eggs firmly all in one basket. Bcos midtable is the only alternative We could get 4th. Alternatively we could win the FA Cup Edit: or both
Basically it's winner takes all. Tbh I would have took a straight shoot out against Sevilla for a CL spot and trophy at the start of the season...but it'll be an epic meltdown if it goes tit's up
Even if we lose we will still be in the EL next year. Admit it, your season just won't be the same without those magical European Thursday nights at Anfield
I love the Europa league. All my post's in previous years have never said any different, great competition that PL clubs tend to think is too poor to bother with. Really bad attitude imo. I will miss those Thursday nights. I better get Tuesday nights off work next season instead
Aye it's a good competition, but I think it's badly devalued by the addition of the clubs that fall out of the CL. Particularly now they've changed the format so pretty much any club that fails to reach the CL knockouts gets parachuted into the EL. Makes it feel very much like a second tier cup, whereas the UEFA Cup was widely respected. That probably makes it harder for Utd fans to warm to it - we don't want to accept being away from the top tier even for a single season. But I guess that doesn't apply as much clubs that have gotten used to competing in it, so we may well appreciate it more the longer LVG stays at the club
