Better Call Saul Season 2 was fantastic. 9/10

Bordertown (Cartoon by some writers from Family guy) bit of a struggle. Similar to Family guy style, but nowhere near as funny. low 7/10.

Vikings Season 4 has started well as always.

High-Rise (2015)
8/10

It was odd, difficult, quite chaotic and often grotesque, but I could not take my eyes off the screen. Elements of dark comedy were very pleasing to me.

Hiddlestone was fairly average.
Miller was good.
Evans was excellent. Really enjoyed his performance.
Irons was decent.

Strangely aesthetically pleasing given the frequency of uncomfortable and horrid images.

I can't speak as to how it performs as an adaptation of the novel (I've never read it, but I'm sure I will soon) though.

The sequence driven by Portishead's cover of SOS was fantastic. Goodness me, I wish they'd release it as part of the original soundtrack. I think I'll probably listen to that song for a week solidly if I can find it somewhere.

Mamma Mia! That was quick - that one had circa 430 views when I watched it just now, so the licensing polis of ABBA must be taking care of the Money money Money

There's been a few links through SoundCloud but they keep getting taken down too.
Meh. Maybe they'll officially release it eventually.

It's a haunting piece of music - it's been a while since I listened to Portishead, used to live in the West Country for a bit and saw them play at Ashton Court one summer. Fantastic

Son of Saul - 8/10

An uncomfortable, relentless, gripping and somewhat personal take on a very sad turn of events in human history.

The unusual cinematography worked IMO.

I saw a trailer to that. It looks like the style of film I love, but I get the impression it might be so artistic, and strange, I might not follow it?

Netflix "the Ranch" - Pretty awful "American comedy" I don't think I laughed more than a couple of times in 10 half hour episodes. 4/10

Watching "The Honourable Woman" 3 episodes in, very very good. Hard to grapple with everything going on, but it is gripping so far. 8/10 based on that.

Also, just started a half hour animated Series called "Animals". If you love dark modern comedy, and Dark animation. This is fantastic! About the lives of Animals, what the do and say to each other as if it's a normal day to day.Very funny, great casting and animation. 10/10 based on the first 4 episodes.

Loving every minute of this 2nd series of Gotham, I think it's better than the first. Gotta love the Penguin!

Bah!
Urgh. I hated the first season, for many reasons. The second started really good, for one obvious reason. After about 4-5 episodes (I think it was, with a shocking plot twist) it just turns back into Season 1 again.

This what I don't understand, why on earth watch the second season if you thought the first was tripe?

Bah!

Watch it with my girlfriend and she doesn't mind it. That, and I was hoping it would sort itself out. For something so hyped and watched, It looks like it's been made by kids!
