Everton are a bigger club and if the new owners give him a huge fund to build a team, it may appeal more.

Why do you guys:

A) read all this **** and;
B) believe it?

Most of the gossip in the newspapers has been written by the Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson FFS.

I will believe it when I see it.

It is because we are young, foolish and full of the joys off spring. You on the other hand .... <laugh>

Mirror equation -

Everton = doing badly + will likely need new manager = Koeman + out of contract = DEFINITE INTEREST

My concern is letting Ron run down the contract next season. We need a compromise. Les should try to get him to agree an extension where he can walk away for a better opportunity with little fuss from us.....which sounds painful but would be less dangerous than him get to the end of a three year deal & all our top players dealing with the uncertainty. I love RK, but it might be too risky to let this situation unfold. Les has a lot of work to do.
Ron must understand that it will damage us, & he will be constantly linked to other jobs, it will make his position far more difficult.

Can't see it...Ron will at least be with us next season and then the danger will be interest from a big club. Why would he leave a club where he is happy for a struggler like Everton....he could wait a year and see what is available that is better. I'm not worried about a team like Everton needing a manager.

If RK does not sign an extension, but stays to see out his contract, then next season could be a write-off.
The uncertainty effect permeates the club and leads to indifferent performances (see Man City for example).
When Gordon Strachan announced he would not be staying beyond the end of the season, it signaled the beginning of a slide that very nearly killed the club.
I definitely want RK to stay, but we need to have stability or we risk another player exodus.

Everton have Koeman on their shortlist. It isn't just the Mail saying thar.

Everton are a bigger club then us. Everton also have a better team then us. It's just Martinez has failed big time with managing the players. The right manager going in and adding one or two players is all it would take.

I think it will come down to if the board can sell him our ambition with our new 5 year plan, if he think thinks it is ambitious enough he will sign an extention ......however if not he will go :(

I don't think he would go to someone just because they are a 'big' club. I think they also need to be on the way up or already there and be run in a way he finds acceptable. I mean there are loads of big clubs i.e. Leeds, Aston Villa, Sunderland etc. but someone like Ronald won't go to them.

Lots of IFs here, but should Sunderland be relegated, and should we not be able to dissuade a [rather daft at times] mighty Kenyan that the grass is not always greener elsewhere, how about Jan Kirchhoff as an option. Has looked very impressive since Allardyce got him in. I'm sure Sunderland would be very happy to make a big profit.

Not by much these days Beef. Certainly not enough for a player or manager to decide the grass might be greener there. This actually came up on MOTD2 Extra and Lawro suggested Koeman for Everton, to which everyone asked why leave Southampton for Everton? It's no longer a step-up.

Richer club and not losing players every year is a start. I get what you mean. But can see the advantages.

I think Koeman's next move is an important one for him...can't see Everton as being that one as he has another season to look for something better. He could decide that we are his dream job and he wants to see the 5 year plan through:rolleyes:....yes, I do believe in fairies. <laugh>
