Ok, think I understand it a bit better now there's more info.

The aim of the game for us (the 'town' for want of a better word) is to find this Cora. In order to do that we have to go the right way. But the only people who know the right way are the Mafia, who have to kill us all before we find the girl.

So the Mafia will try to misdirect us as much as they can and make sure we go the wrong way so they can kill us all before we get there.

Is that right?

There's also other forces at large, a secret sexual relationship, swords etc and a bag of sand

Ok, well until the magical special stuff rears its head, I think we have to assume the Mafia will be manipulating us to try and get us to go the wrong way.

Has anyone been obvious in trying to get us to go somewhere thus far?
 
I'm expecting a dogging circle of witches to tempt me into their perverted enclave. I will not go willingly, of course, but if I must take turns on them, bent over on all fours (as they most assuredly will be), and taking the guise of Arabian princess-virgins, I might as well put my back into it, eh, lads?

I suggested mountains early on then a few others jumped on that direction too.
