Problem with that was, and speaking as an Evictee from E3 to N4, although I was a bit disgruntled about the timing and speed of it, I actually thought it had some merits, get everyone behind the goal who wants to sing, create the atmosphere etc. And in the first season, it did work to some extent, everyone stood up etc. However to then put the prices up again after a relegation season is pure business suicide. As we can see from the empty seats and lowest average attendence since we moved to the KC.
But.....we have to remember no-one can question their business accumen.
Start with 22,000 customers.
Get rid of 7,000.
Alienate the remaining 15,000 and punish the young and the elderly.
Yes, Richard Branson must be ****ting himself.
To say it worked is stretching a point to the extreme. The atmosphere could easily have been better without evicting people, pissing them off and splitting up the noisy fans was a ridiculous move.
No hindsight needed, I predicted the failings at the time, and take little pleasure in being right.
The sadness is that those involved, and those that wouldn't listen then, haven't learned. They still think they know best and still don't listen.
