When I was home for Christmas they had dug up most of the old surface in all the main city center streets. Was back a week ago and they have dug up even more, I don't think its possible yet to walk on a newly laid slab. I understand they have to do drains, electrics and stuff but surely they could have finished a little bit by now.

I believe they've finished either side of Whitefriargate and there's just the middle to do now, so at least people can get in the shops again (those that are open anyway).

Now we're getting somewhere.
I noticed they'd done some paving work between the old co op and Edwin Collins building .
Seems a strange place to spend some dosh.

Some of the new paving on Whitefriargate has already been dug up and replaced with Tarmac, it's a ****ing mess...

There's an embargo on works on the newly paved areas, as all utility companies were told they must complete any works before the new paving went down, but it seems all they have to do is claim they are 'emergency works' and they can dig it up anyway.

It's going to be re-done, but it is a bit ridiculous to be doing it twice, I hope the utility companies are covering the full cost.

They still aint done Bowllalley lane after 7 months.
They could leave the full city centre a mess for COC

It's what happens when they let public services fall into private companies. Particularly if they're not local.
