Tonight's performance by Spurs (and Leicester's yesterday) reinforced my wish to see Spurs win it.
I have personal reasons for a deep and enduring dislike (I'll never go as far as hatred as far as football is concerned) of Spuds. Apart from out mutual acquaintance I have no particular feelings about Leicester, but the sheer unlikeliness of them winning it is attractive, even though Spurs are definitely a better team to watch (though I don't think Leicester are that bad). If Spurs keep this squad and manager together they should have no problem in winning stuff in the near future. A challenge for Levy, who likes to cash in on ludicrously over priced players.

Spurs plays the best fotball in the premir league, yet they might not win championship. Shame there is not a match between spurs and leicester left...

I agree, that would be quite a finale if Spurs required a win to clinch the title.

Happens very often.
When we lost out to Liverpool it was widely agreed that ourselves and man utd were the more attractive to watch.

Watching the tail end of Preston v Burnley on Bet365 live stream, Burnley 1-0 up thanks to an early Joey Barton 30 yard deflected free kick. The moment I tuned in on 80 mins Barton (#13) picked up a yellow card from Kevin Friend for a cynical, or is that clinical, foul, but he certainly got the job done for them this season.

Kevin is indeed Joey's Friend as he escapes a 2nd yellow card after a late challenge. No doubt if was still playing for us that would have been a yellow and a red card sending off.

Commentator indicates Barton has been immense this evening as he is just hacked down for a Preston yellow card.

I see from the BBC stats that Preston had 15 shots, but only one on target and Burnley 16, two on target (including Barton's deflected goal from a free kick), so pretty poor stuff from both sides.

Burnley should've been 5 up at half time, they missed a some real sitters. They battered them first half, second half was all change and Preston ought to have got a point.Barton was given the man of the match award, but could easily have given a pen away and been sent off!

I can't stand Burnley
A team very much in the mould of their manager urgh!
Mind you Preston were beyond awful.

Yes, our midfield has certainly missed Joey this season. I think he is a very good championship player but he doesn't have the legs for the PL. A bottom six PL team might take a punt on him but I doubt it. Next season. I can see Burnley getting rid for a younger model.

If Burnley are relying on Barton to take their free kicks, they will have to recruit in the summer to have a chance of staying up if promoted.

I'll throw this out there; for what it's worth.

I reckon we'd be in with a chance of promotion this season had we chosen to retain Joey Barton.

As QPR999 opined on a different thread; a case of 'sliding doors'.

Joey is exactly the sort of driving midfield captain I want for next season please.....but I don't want Joey back thank you

I agree. I said on another thread that I think we would be in the play-offs now if we had retained Barton. We have missed his leadership and will to win.
