Well, when you been in existance for as long as us (133 years), this happening just the twice, is pretty good! These things happen unfortunately. Would have happened to you too in 1982 if it were not for your financial crisis saving you. If you could keep control of your finances better then you wouldnt have ceased to exist but of course you would have just fallen out of the football league with yet another relegation. But you were so bad that you had to start from stratch forming a new club. Thats worse than dropping out of the football league.

Personally, I would rather drop out of the football league and fight back to get in it again, doing it the right way, preserving the history of the club (133 years and counting) than having to lose all our history, throwing it all away because you couldnt organise the finances properly and therefore ceasing to exist and having to form a brand new club. Now that is shambolic.

I think any fan of any other club if given the option would pick relegation to none league and win promotion back therefore saving the history of the club than having to shut the doors for good losing all your clubs history just ceasing to exist and having to form a new club. That is worse than MK Dons. You reds must be so proud <ok>

Nice wum, worse than MK Dons ? <laugh>, what a load of ****e

MK Dons have followed your example. They also changed their name (from Wimbledon to MK Dons) and lost all of their history in the process. Just Like you reds.
Only difference between you both is MK Dons moved home and didnt have the same financial crisis as what your former club had.
What makes you worse than them is they probably didnt rip up contracts forcing players to leave and thats because they can handle their finances better.

:)

At least we didn't lose our stadium to our financial crisis and forced to leave Bristol

Nope, nothing like us at all, nice try though

Indeed, no you didnt. We had to lose our place because...
A) Someone caused millions of damage trying to burn the place down <grr>
B) We couldnt afford to stay.

So we did the right thing so keep our club as an actual club. It would have been easy to just throw in the towel and start again by forming a new club, losing our entire history in the process!

Maybe you should have sold Ashton Gate to keep your footballing integrity, instead of starting again in 1982. Yes you would have been homeless like we were but im sure you would have found somewhere like we did thanks to Bath City <ok>

What is all this losing our history rubbish? Find me a football history website or a football history book that shows that the club that got to a FA Cup Final or spent those years in the top division is different to the one that won 3 Football league trophies and the League One title last season.

The only people who say that we have lost our history are those that are jealous of it.

I thought it was taking you a while to mention Warnock.. Yeah I'm really happy for him he's done a good job.

Why would I be jealous of that? I do that all the time to old timer and all gasheads. I like to think I recieve it too. Why woild I be jealous that you have done so? <laugh>

The only jealousy here is from yourself. We all know deep down that you are upset about what happened to your club in 1982 and that you wished your club had the integrity to do the right thing like what Rovers have been doing since 1883. You cant admit it though. But its eating away at you though. Thats the jealousy part which is doing that wiz :)

Unless you were 1 of those pathetic sad individuals who sent abuse to the likes of Merrick, blaming the AG8 for 1982. Surely thats not you wiz. So it must just be jealousy then <whistle>

So just admit you would rather have dropped out the football league like Rovers over ceasing to exist losing all your history in the process - which any sane person would do. Instead of bring up horse punching and riots. Every club has a minority of fans who are twats. Im sure we both can do a long list showing this. I could bring up threats to residents to Ashton Vale residents. I could bring up Tinion getting spat at. But I wont as im well aware that those people are knobs which im sure you agree with <ok> Lets just cut out my dick is bigger than yours (which it is mind) and just admit you are wrong and I am right, so I can go to bed please <ok><laugh>
Wow <wizard> Pricked a nerve or Nerved a prick there, still it made a boring night enjoyable, I love it when our little blue darlings bite...<laugh>

The official record books has simply combined both clubs together. But your own club confirms "a new club was formed". Its a bit hard to argue that fact really. So feel free to keep your history if it makes you all feel better. But Bristol City Football Club died in 1982 and Bristol City Football Club 1982 Limited was born. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to understand that when your old club died in 1982, everything died with it, its records, its history, its achievements and of course, its financial troubles too.

Anyway, have a good day Loaths <hug><ok>

I dont know about that. I predicted Plymouth will mess it up. They have. I predicted Rotherham (Warnock) will finish higher than City (LJ)... so far so good ;)

It is a bit of a shock that City have come up with a red shirt for their home kit next season <doh>:emoticon-0105-wink:

I think the hashtags are all a bit of a storm in a tea cup. There are worse things that could be on the shirt. Like a pirate or a local boozer for instance :emoticon-0105-wink: but all joking aside I have no problems with the shirt but red shorts!!!!!!. Now that's what people should be complaining about!
