Thanks for the history lesson <ok> Our existance since 1883 has been a rollercoaster!

A history lesson for you now, taken from your own website: Read more at http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/a-potted-history-405403.aspx#0LioFt97C3CkKYpp.99

    1980: Relegated to Division Two.

    1981: Relegated to Division Three.

1982: Relegated to Division Four, and the club plunge into financial crisis. A new club is formed: Bristol City FC (1982) Limited, avoiding closure by a whisker.

Just think, those 3 relegations above in 3 seasons are wiped out as its part of your old club that is no more as ceased to exist in 1982. Such as all your results and others stats prior to 1982 as that all happen for a club who ceased to exist in 1982. Legends, such as Atyeo, is forgotten as played prior to 1982 and the club he played for ceased to exist in 1982. So celebrating an anniversary to the top league is, well, a bit 'clutching at straws' for former glory, when that former glory died when that club ceased to exist in 1982.

Well, its been emotional, cheers guys <ok>

Good record aye, never had to be re-elected, never been relegated down to non-league football...

That means you beat us 2-0, you were not good enough to stay in the senior leagues twice, shambolic record really..

Well, when you been in existance for as long as us (133 years), this happening just the twice, is pretty good! These things happen unfortunately. Would have happened to you too in 1982 if it were not for your financial crisis saving you. If you could keep control of your finances better then you wouldnt have ceased to exist but of course you would have just fallen out of the football league with yet another relegation. But you were so bad that you had to start from stratch forming a new club. Thats worse than dropping out of the football league.

Personally, I would rather drop out of the football league and fight back to get in it again, doing it the right way, preserving the history of the club (133 years and counting) than having to lose all our history, throwing it all away because you couldnt organise the finances properly and therefore ceasing to exist and having to form a brand new club. Now that is shambolic.

I think any fan of any other club if given the option would pick relegation to none league and win promotion back therefore saving the history of the club than having to shut the doors for good losing all your clubs history just ceasing to exist and having to form a new club. That is worse than MK Dons. You reds must be so proud <ok>

Riots in the stands, threats on the pitch, beating up horses, directors fleeing in their cars, managers sobbing at their failures, shambolic, don't you think..:emoticon-0105-wink:

Strange they didnt mention that! It also doesnt mention this either...

"The players came under increasing pressure too. Merrick later spoke of being bitter about his loyalty towards the club. “Loyalty is a complete and utter waste of time. Loyalty is a dirty word”, he said. The Eight were making the ultimate sacrifice in football terms, yet some of them received abusive phone calls and many fans accused them of holding the club to ransom."

This bit was interesting old timer in that article...

"For a player such as Merrick this must have been a desperate position. A local boy who’d only ever played for the club. He was club captain in their greatest post-war years, yet here he was now being asked to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the club he loved. Goodness only knows what went through his mind when he first discovered the plight of the club. He had turned down lucrative moves in previous years out of loyalty for the club and the players he’d grown up with."

It later goes on to say....

"The Eight walked away... but they were unemployed and for a player of Merrick’s age he would never find another professional contract."

Thats how they treated loyal players!

So comments were made about Citys anniversary of being in the top flight. I state that its history as its part of the old club. I then get replies abour Rovers getting re-elected and relegated. Thats all off topic but ok fair enough. I then reply saying I would rather keep my history and get relegated like any sane fan would over forming a new club and I provide the evidence of the forming of the new club and how it worked due to the Ashton Gate 8 and how they were treated. So I bring it back on to topic again. I then get replies about punching horses and riots in the stands. I think someone is getting rather desperate as they know they been owned and are banged to rights over their history and cant take the fact that I am right and they too would rather have kept their history instead of losing greats like Atyeo down the pan along with their old club which from 1982 ceased to exist.

Whatever floats your boat reds <ok>

    Laters <smooch>

Why would I be jealous of that? I do that all the time to old timer and all gasheads. I like to think I recieve it too. Why woild I be jealous that you have done so? <laugh>

The only jealousy here is from yourself. We all know deep down that you are upset about what happened to your club in 1982 and that you wished your club had the integrity to do the right thing like what Rovers have been doing since 1883. You cant admit it though. But its eating away at you though. Thats the jealousy part which is doing that wiz :)

Unless you were 1 of those pathetic sad individuals who sent abuse to the likes of Merrick, blaming the AG8 for 1982. Surely thats not you wiz. So it must just be jealousy then <whistle>

So just admit you would rather have dropped out the football league like Rovers over ceasing to exist losing all your history in the process - which any sane person would do. Instead of bring up horse punching and riots. Every club has a minority of fans who are twats. Im sure we both can do a long list showing this. I could bring up threats to residents to Ashton Vale residents. I could bring up Tinion getting spat at. But I wont as im well aware that those people are knobs which im sure you agree with <ok> Lets just cut out my dick is bigger than yours (which it is mind) and just admit you are wrong and I am right, so I can go to bed please <ok><laugh>
