Anyone else turning out sporting our nations colours for our national saints day this Saturday..I will be heading off to my home village of Ryhope to watch a local band playing in the Top House who are fundraising for the Ryhope Colliery Banner to be used on Durham Day..

I'll maybe wear something red and head off to Wembley.

Here in Mallorca, Saint George is known as Santa Jordi. Think I prefer the Mallorcan version of the name. And it will also be celebrated much more widely than back in the UK. Patron Saint of Spain could be ....... St James, I think but maybe it could be Simeone if Atletico pull off the League and CL double.
 
But he didnt really knack any dragons. Nor was he English (i think).

But still the sentiments are good.

He was actually a Turk... I have no idea how he came to be our patron saint, but as you say it is the sentiment that matters..
