Russell Slade’s men are five points behind sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday and know they will need a strong finish to the campaign if they are to achieve that goal. After a hard-fought draw at high-flying Burnley, the Bluebirds followed that up with a disappointing defeat at Fulham last time out. With only five games remaining, they haven’t got the luxury of being able to afford many more dropped points. With that in mind, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s QPR can expect to face a team who will be playing on the front foot from the opening whistle at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday. The promotion charge of Slade’s men has been built around their impressive home form. Should QPR leave south Wales victorious, they will be only the third side to achieve that feat in the league this season, after Hull (September) and Leeds March). To add to the atmosphere at the ground, Cardiff are providing two complimentary tickets to all their season ticket holders for this game. please log in to view this image Possible Starting Xl's please log in to view this image please log in to view this image MATCH ODDS Cardiff City win: 10/11 Draw: 12/5 QPR win: 5/2 LAST TIME OUT QPR 2, Cardiff City 2 – Championship – Saturday 15th August 2015 Scorer: QPR – Hill Austin; Cardiff City – Morrison, Malone HEAD TO HEAD Cardiff City wins: 25 Draws: 13 QPR wins: 32 MATCH OFFICIALS please log in to view this image Referee: Steve Martin Assistant Referees: M Amphlett & P Hobday Fourth Official: B Huxtable please log in to view this image
Hope we ruin their promotion hopes today. Ever since going to the play off final and the vile and hostile reception we got I can't stand them. Rubbish club.
I couldn't find anything decent, I'm afraid I've run out of material. I looked for ages without any joy.
Thanks nines. Can't see us winning today, they need to - we don't. Their million pound sub Andy Campbell has been reminiscing about that play off final again. I won't forget that day either, so will be doing my best to avoid the score this afternoon!
I'm sure you had some entertainment in the search Nines. I hope we play your team, except with Angella instead of Ned. Another QPR game? The nine hundredth this season it feels like. Draw.
It has become a chore rather than a pleasure lately Stan. I did have Angella in the side originally but took him out. I think he will play and Ned will be in at right back if Perch isn't fit. I was going to go to today's game but the hotels in Cardiff have upped their prices by at least x3 for whatever reason. I decided on not going as it's a relatively nothing match from our pov. Heading off with the family to Brighton to visit my nephew instead.
Hope the lad is recovering according to plan mate. I spent a good, productive hour this week explaining the joys of relegation and promotion to some US colleagues, a discussion which arose from discovering that a UK based mate does internet commentaries for Darlington 1883, the Phoenix club from Darlington Town, forced to start at the bottom of the pyramid and who have had 2 promotions in 3 years already. I even used the whiteboard to map out how long it would take them to get from the seventh tier to champions league qualification. One of my points was that there are few 'dead' games, which is of course a lie, as the last third of this season has brought home very strongly. Anyway, the Yanks liked the idea, but said that the franchise owners would never accept it in any sport for them, where the lower leagues and college sports are all about individual players showing they might have what it takes for the big time. And none of us could work out how the draft system, which they all like, would work in a true pyramid.
I've read that both Angeila and Perch are out but Clint could be back. If so expect Ned at RB, Clint and Hall CB's and Robinson at LB. Further forward there are many possibilities.
Beating mini massive is almost as pleasurable as beating the true massive even though we have nothing riding on the game today....... C'mon U R's....
Team News Ingram Ned, Hall, Hill, Knochesky Phillips, Faulin, Luongo, Henry Chery, Polter Make of that what you will....
What does Nasser have to do to get picked, in thinking nothing short of bumping Matt Phillips off will do it. Hoping Nass, Gladwin and Connor get a reasonable chunk of game time but suspect they will not.
