Russell Slade’s men are five points behind sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday and know they will need a strong finish to the campaign if they are to achieve that goal.
After a hard-fought draw at high-flying Burnley, the Bluebirds followed that up with a disappointing defeat at Fulham last time out. With only five games remaining, they haven’t got the luxury of being able to afford many more dropped points.
With that in mind, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s QPR can expect to face a team who will be playing on the front foot from the opening whistle at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.
The promotion charge of Slade’s men has been built around their impressive home form. Should QPR leave south Wales victorious, they will be only the third side to achieve that feat in the league this season, after Hull (September) and Leeds March).
To add to the atmosphere at the ground, Cardiff are providing two complimentary tickets to all their season ticket holders for this game.
