In reality, not many team would actually come back from needing three goals in 33minutes. Including Liverpool. But every now and then, the football gods throw us these kinds of games. I still haven't seen enough of Klopp at Liverpool to suggest that they are much better off than before him - especially in the league. They've been pants!!
Looks similar to an Olimpiakos moment to me, you could/should probably go on to win it from here but it doesn't make you suddenly equipped to win the league next season. Not without some major signings.
Our league form has been inconsistent, but he's been here since October and was left about 3 good players. People always mention the Rodgers comparison with win rate % etc. Surely that can only be judged when he's dipped into the market and bought his own team. That team was a Rodgers team, nearly all of them bought by Rodgers (and the committee). So carry on using Rodgers as a comparison if it makes you feel better All you need to look at is the whole vibe around Liverpool to know he's already been a big success. He's turned a suicidal city into a place where people can now have hope. First season, not his team (yet he's got them playing like a Klopp side). He runs things from the touchline, which to me should be standard from ANY coach. I won't get carried away. But lets judge him when he's built his team. Anyone that thinks Klopp isn't one of the best around is fooling themselves. What he achieved at Dortmund was incredible considering he did it with little money. Let's see how his team is after 2 more windows, but I have a feeling it'll be a very good strong hard pressing team. When you compare Klopp with LVG it's polar opposite. Plenty of the big teams are probably kicking themselves for not going in for Klopp tbh. Also it's funny how these football god's keep throwing these type of games mainly at Liverpool
Exactly. Next season will be very interesting though with so many changes. I just can't call it at all. Next season - Chelsea with Conte, could go either way tbh. Man City with Pep - I think they'll go on to dominate personally but they won't start that next season. Leicester - Massive summer, could go either way depending on players staying/coming Spurs - Keep Poch and you have to say they'll be in the mix. Man Utd - Depends on LVG really, he stays and you'll be hovering around but not really going anywhere. Jose? could be interesting. Up in the air and could go either way. Liverpool - A summer of Klopp activity and a full pre-season with his new players. Could go either way, but you'd have to say the chances are we'll improve hugely. Arsenal - Top 4. So basically the race will be wide open. Too many changes to call it. It's going to be an exciting season whatever happens.
Lots of smiley faces, eh? I remember how well that worked out the last time, and again all you need to do to improve is win some points Actually they throw them at all clubs, but Liverpool is the only one to keep going on about them. We've had Turin, the Nou Camp, Spurs in 2001, Everton in 2007, Spurs again in 2009, West Ham in 2011 and Chelsea in 2012. Liverpool is just the only club which keeps banging on about them like they are the be all and end all of football. Well, that and the smiley faces of course.
Football gods? Have to agree with Swarbs here, I have seen Chelsea in some kick ass comebacks (97 FA Cup Fourth Round vs Liverpool springs to mind). I was saying on the Liverpool board earlier, that Liverpudlians have a tendency to over romantacize everything, literally anything and everything. Such a weird city.
Get over it FFS. It was a glorious night of football, all these very poor attempts at wummery are steeped in #fear Of course other teams have nights like that, that's football. I did like this comment though Dortmund boss Thomas Tuche said it was "one of the best atmospheres ever at a football match".
I was never under it. I thought it was a great game, and Liverpool won me money so I am cool. Just that NO other team that achieved this would be making half the fuss is all. At the end of the day, you beat a decent German team in a Europey league quarter final, Good for our coefficient though Props to City and Pool for repping da PL! Though you don't see City fans boasting about it, then again, you might, if there were any.
Ah, the atmosphere, how could we forget the power of the magical Anfield European night? Magical as long as the crowd don't leave at half time of course. With all these things on their side, it's a miracle Liverpool didn't win 10-0! #underachievers
They're all far too busy not attending matches, and sulking about having to pay money to watch their team now that they are good
