I can see why you are so dangerous in attack but ropey at the back. Strong and use the width well but the passing style can cause trouble in defence as proved by our equaliser.
That was an individual error, but the corner was a good ball. Bobby is so close to getting the balance between attack and defence right. Only the top four have scored more, just need a bit of steel in the middle.
It's not great I agree but in the summer we will have serious money to spend compared to previous seasons and I for one admit I don't think Martinez is right for us he has little or no interest in defence ffs? We have a few dead wood players with contracts up in the summer Pienaar Ossie Hibbert and Gibson we have a good chance to clear the decks and start a fresh with Martinez playing style and clueless game management if we keep him I fear this could be the chance we have all been waiting for already flowing down the drain.....
Starting again and trying a new style could be a waste, but we have Ossie, Pienaar, Gibson, Mirallas, Lukaku and possibly Barkley and Stines to look at replacing
Ossie Pienaar Gibson and Mirallas are fringe players tbh I wouldn't be too bothered if they went anyway...I can see Lukaku and Stones going I'm not convinced Barkley will go tbh... Whatever the players mate the style ain't working admittedly something clicked season 1 but the last 2 seasons have been pathetic
Still nothing to say if it will improve it implode with a new man/new players. Will still support/keep going and see what's what. Every time I think it's my last season.....I sign up again
I hate that put down being used against match going Blues who want to make their feelings known about this clown being in need of the chop. It had the desired effect, as it brought the discussion about Martinez failure at Goodison into the national media.
You can call it failure, but come May he has a chance to deliver a trophy. Not that I am saying he deserves to keep his job. Also the issue on Baines, if he was man enough to be critical, why not stick to his guns? Makes me believe he has been misquoted on that front and the part about being 'forced' to make an apology?
He wasn't misquoted, he was quoted verbatim. He said the team had been lacking chemistry on the pitch - which is obvious Martinez decided that it could have been construed that there was an issue off the pitch between the players, and therefore forced him to apologise for saying it as it was, as he obviously shat himself in case people read into it that he's lost the dressing room. He handled it terribly, hence the back lash.
I'm disappointed that Baines then folded and gave in to him! Man enough to say it, then he should back it up and say he was telling the truth! Again I see this all linking back to Eto'o and that mistake of signing him. The smiling assassin has done for Bobby.
I hope they get the man they want and that Jose is one of the people. But we were also selling Stones last summer according to the press so will take it with a pinch of salt at the minute. His time is up, which is a shame in my opinion. I think he was close, get it right and who knows what would have happened
That wasn't via the press mate, and I hope you're right about Jose. I think he could have got it right, if he'd have brought in a strong No.2 and a defensive coach, but his gung ho style was never going to deliver consistency as it stands.
