I agree.hes been great for us.a big personality and I think a good man.but if you keep doing the same things you'll get the same results and just can't accept no strikers yet skying the ball to the unlucky oike whose upfront today.id had enough after Rotherham and I've seen nothing to change my mind.thanks Bruce good luck with your next job.and err could you take the owners with you please.
He's a nice guy but it's time for him to go. He's been tactically inept for the last two months. He's bottled it. He's bottled every season with us towards the end. If it wasn't for Leeds at Vic Road in 2013 we would have finished 3rd and probably wouldn't have gone up.
How our manager could drop Davies today is absolutely beyond me. You make one mistake and thats it your out, what sort of ****ing management is that? Is it totally his fault that teams pass through us at will putting the defence under huge pressure because we can't do it at the other end.? Don't get me wrong, I've wanted Harry on the pitch for long enough, but when Daws and Davies have kept us in games of late, what message does that send out. It's no wonder there seems to be a huge amount of in fighting within the club, Gregor seems to want to rip peoples heads off, there's no palm slapping (you get my gist) and even when we score its seems a muted response from team mates. We all knew Brownie had a naughty step, Bruce has takes his alienation of players to a whole new low IMO.
He constantly scapegoats defenders for one mistake when we lose and ignores the fact we scored nil. This is just yet another one of those occasions. He was criticising Davies the other night when Burnsy pointed out that it was a slip. He didn't know but was already blaming him. Now I do think it was a bad error and Maguire for example wouldn't have done it because he's so much less awkward on the ball, but I don't see that Junior is any better on the ball, so dropping him just seems like some kind of punishment. We got nil Steve, how about addressing that?
Davies and Dawson have been pretty much first choice all season when fit. How has he scapegoated any?
Agree, we were extremely fortunate to go up to The Prem under Bruce. If it wasn't for the bizarre events at Vicarage Road & Watford's 18 year old 3rd choice goalie gifting Leeds both of their goals we would have ended up 3rd & in the playoffs. As for the FA Cup we had a very fortunate path to the Final culminating in drawing Sheff Utd & not Man City in the Semis. So far from Bruce being our most successful manager in history I'd say he's been our luckiest manager in history. This season due to his poor team formation (insisting on 4-4-1-1 to accommodate Diame), player selections (including pairing Huddlestone with Livermore in central midfield),tactics (team unable to score from corners, free kicks & set pieces) & failing to instill an attacking mentality into a squad of ex Prem & International players we've now virtually no hope of auto promotion & have to settle for the play-offs.
He's always blaming the one defensive error when we lose 1-0 rather than the nil. Robertson was on the bench for almost the entire second half of last season despite being our best player in the first half. I'm talking mainly about media comments though. It's always about the mistake and how we can't be making those. As if he's happy with not scoring every week as long as we don't make defensive errors either.
It wasn't one mistake at Derby, Davies was fairly poor all game, though it was risky dropping him to play two centre backs who haven't played for weeks. It showed as well, they were all over the place in the first half.
In fairness everyone was screaming for 3-5-2 with pretty much the exact players he played yesterday so calling him tactically inept is a bit off, but bringing on Maloney for Dawson instead of Davies annoyed me.
I agree about Davies - sends out the wrong message. One mistake and you're out. He doesn't apply the same principle to several others, notably Diame.
It was a huge gamble to drop Davies yesterday and bring in TWO centre backs that hadn't played for ages, it would have made much more sense to just bring in H and leave Curtis in.
Because that was the substitution! It doesn't mean they swapped like for like! they changed the formation.
looking at the vote results thus far... I cant believe that the majority of you still want to persevere with the fat one.
