He would certainly get in the squad at the moment, not sure what the first 11 is, who would you take out for him?

Tbh mate, any of them. That's actually me being unbiased. I'm 100% certain he would start for you if you had him.

Saturday was probably the funniest match up all season. Coutinho against Walker <laugh>

He's probably still dizzy, bless him.

<laugh> Coutinho done a great bit of skill in the second half that got the better of Walker and now all of a sudden it was the funniest match up all season? God help any full back that gets beaten by their man when you're watching. I suppose Clyne should be banished to the reserves by your reckoning then, seeing as he looked lost all game and was chasing shadows when Eriksen passed to Kane for the goal.

Didn't you lot pay something like £12m for Moreno as well? I really wouldn't be talking too harshly on opposition full backs if I were you.

Moreno is shot to pieces, headless chicken.

Clyne is good enough, not great.

Any more players you want my view on?

For someone that thinks Coutinho would stroll into our 11 with ease, I'm not sure I'd want any more views, I've had enough laughs for today.

<laugh>

Coutinho would be in your starting 11. Come on man, don't be so stupid <ok>

Where, over who?

Alli? No.
Eriksen? No.
Lamela? For more of a goal threat perhaps but for work rate and team ethos which has been key to our season, no chance.

Coutinho is far too inconsistent for my liking, good player but he wouldn't fit in at Spurs.

The closest call would be Coutinho or Eriksen, Lamela's work rate is much better than Coutinho's and that is so valuable to us.

Eriksen also works pretty hard for the side in fairness and going by stats, he has a bigger hand in goals for us than Coutinho does for Pool, so for me it's an easy decision to say he wouldn't get in the XI due to the way we play and the work rate that's required.

While I do feel he's a good player, very good in fact, I think he's also massively overhyped just because he plays for Pool.

Oh I dunno. Was a nothing game for us and with a step dad whos a Gill I thought your pitch invasion to celebrate safety was hilarious when you went down a week later anyway :p <laugh>

Actually gills related I witnessed 2 relegations in a week back in 2005. I went to the City Ground to see a 2-2 (i think?) draw between you n an already relegated Forest which sent you down to div3. Then a week later saw us lose to United for our first relegation in my lifetime!
I have to agree regarding the pitch invasion, with our away record it was ill conceived at best. I do recall that the match was a really good game both teams played very attractive football (for league1).

I was at Forest too, 25 yarder for the equaliser with 5 minutes to go - I think it was a sub scored with his first touch, that was an awful journey home, though not as bad as after Wycombe (the week after the saints match).

You're having a laugh if you don't actually think Coutinho would get into your side.

He's the one of the best attacking midfielders in the country and is certainly better than Alli and Eriksen although Alli certainly has the potential to be better.

I disagree, rather unsurprisingly.
Leaving aside the extremely debatable claim about Alli and Eriksen, I don't think that he works hard enough.
Coutinho's one of those players who's capable of changing a game and creating something out of nothing.
He also disappears for long periods and offers little defensively.

It's hard to suggest that things would be different if he were at WHL too, as Klopp's trying to enforce a similar system to Pochettino.
You would expect to see his current players putting in the hard work, closing down and running for 90 minutes.
That's simply not the case with the Brazilian, despite his obvious talents.

It'll be interesting to see how the new leader at Anfield deals with this sort of dilemma.
There's no doubt that players like Coutinho and Sturridge are amongst the best at the club, but are they suited to his system?
He's not going to change, so perhaps they need to go? Mata under Mourinho springs to mind.

To use and example closer to home, I'd suggest that Morgan and Huth aren't the best centre-halves in the country.
What they are though, is very well suited to Ranieri's tactics and surrounded by those that complement them.
That's more important than being good in other systems, which simply isn't relevant.

It's arguable that a team like Everton have as good a team as Leicester, going by the individual squad members.
What they don't have though is a good manager with a very workable system that suits those players down to the ground.
Would you pick half of the division to be where they are based solely upon the ability of their players? I wouldn't.

Well you've answered your own question there regarding Alli. No point stunting room for what will be exponential growth. Erisken though is a close call. He has had a very solid season - I think he has the most assists in the league this year. However, many of us, myself included, were looking for a notch above the heights he hit last year, and we haven't seen that yet. On the flipside, Eriksen is a bloody hard worker who covers every blade of grass every game. Coutinho strikes me as the opposite, doing the vast majority of his work in the final third. It's a close one but while we're on the subject I'd happily swap Lamela for Mahrez. <cool>
