Yes the much maligned Mark Stimson we didn't win a single away match that season and were relegated on the last day of the season, at home we played some breath taking football the matches against Leeds and Southampton being particularly good and an FA Cup 3rd round tie v Villa that was televised and we lost to a dubious penalty won by a certain Ashley Young.

Do you go to Priestfield often?

    *Whispers very quietly*

I'm a Saints fan and I don't hate Spurs or Pochettino. I actually quite like you lot because you've now bought into his philosophy of developing young (mainly English) players and playing his attractive brand of football. Poch I have no problem with because I think he dealt with all the disruption as most people would, by playing his cards close to his chest, but as has been said, he was always most likely to leave once his sponsor, and the main reason for him joining us in the first place was shuffled out. He was just waiting for his options to present themselves before committing, whilst not closing the door on the possibility of staying. Seems sensible enough to me.

Either way, he's a class coach. Probably the best in the league, and I actually wish him well.

Now, the three Ls - Liverpool/Lovren/Lallana on the other hand.....(although my hatred of them has diminished with Brenda leaving).

Oh I dunno. Was a nothing game for us and with a step dad whos a Gill I thought your pitch invasion to celebrate safety was hilarious when you went down a week later anyway :p <laugh>

Actually gills related I witnessed 2 relegations in a week back in 2005. I went to the City Ground to see a 2-2 (i think?) draw between you n an already relegated Forest which sent you down to div3. Then a week later saw us lose to United for our first relegation in my lifetime!

On Poch, I think the way he left left a bitter taste bur as LTL said think it's what most managers would do rightly or wrongly. My dislike for Spurs is more that they're the only team we haven't beat since coming back up <grr>

Saturday was probably the funniest match up all season. Coutinho against Walker <laugh>

He's probably still dizzy, bless him.

    Indeed.
The dive that Coutinho undertook that day has a high degree of difficulty, and
the rotation can make the unprepared dizzy.

The dive was idiotic, but what's that got to do with Walker's inability to defend against decent players?

The answer: Nothing. Just a piss poor comeback because Walker was chasing shadows all day <ok>

"The dive is what's to do with Walker's inability to defend against cheating players?"

He's not a big culprit for diving in general, so it's no major big deal - is it?

I'm sure he's not too pleased with his behaviour. But it's a lame argument to back up the fact the mismatch in quality was quite hilarious.

Harsh to say that when Coutinho only put in his usual 15 min cameo, had he played all game Walker would probably have taken him more seriously.

TBF once the referee had committed the riotous act of booking him at Anfield for diving
(in the first half no less) , 15 mins max of proper football was all you were gonna get.

He has a 15-20 min spell every few games where he looks amazing, the rest of the time it's easy to forget he is playing.

Truth be told I have seen more 'live' football in the last 20 years at Priestfield than at the lane, I have a friend who has a season ticket in the Rainham End and I go to about 6/7 matches each season as opposed to 3/4 Spurs matches. I am actually a fellow Ashfordian as well.
