The Tigers will check over a few ‘bumps and bruises’ ahead of Tuesday night’s trip to Derby County.
Sam Clucas is one player who will be assessed after picking up a knock in Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Bristol City, while Nick Powell continues in his recovery from a hamstring problem.
“Clucas took a nasty one so we’ll see how he is,” said manager Bruce.
“We’ve got a few bumps and bruises but you’re going to get those so we’ll see how we are.”
Meanwhile, Bruce admits that leading scorer Abel Hernandez faces a battle to regain his place in the starting eleven.
Sone Aluko was given the nod ahead of Hernandez at the weekend and again took his chance by scoring his second goal in three appearances.
“Abel travelled half way around the world last week and in training on Friday he looked very, very tired,” added Bruce.
“Aluko had played very well against Middlesbrough and it would have been harsh on him to leave him out. He deserved his chance and he took it again.
“Abel now has a fight on his hands and that is terrific.”
Derby will be without long-term injury victim Craig Forsyth for the game at the iPro Stadium while Jeff Hendrick is also set to miss out with a thigh strain.
Darren Bent, Andreas Weimann, Johnny Russell and Nick Blackman are all pushing for starts after being named on the bench for the weekend defeat at Cardiff.
