Kante is a shy quiet young man, who does his talking on the pitch ... again phenomenal today ... press reports today indicate that both Kante and Mahrez are to be offered improved contracts (both have 4 years to run already) worth 80k a week... whether they take it or not remains to be seen ... but the numpty above who commented that they don't strike him as the loyal type is blowing smoke out of his arse frankly ... :)

I also don't think they'll leave; not if they've got a season of CL football with a gold badge on their sleeves to look forward to. But beyond that, it's hard to tell. Unfortunately, and I don't mean to be a wum when I say this, but the only way to go after winning the title is downwards. TV money and FFP mean that we probably won't see dominance like United enjoyed ever again in the PL era. The question will be what happens if next season the burden of CL football results in you failing to defend your title, or perhaps narrowly missing out on the top 4. Who knows? The bottom line is that I'm afraid £80k in real terms is peanuts. If Kante and Mahrez have another season like this, you're talking wage offers in the region of £200k easily.

Either way, best of luck for the rest of the season, and if I can speak on behalf of some of our regulars, I think that the vehement reaction on here has been fuelled by the gutting disappointment of the dawning reality that our own title bid is over. Your meteoric rise to success has been so rapid and unexpected that it's been easy to get carried away with it. We on the other hand raised our hopes to believe that we were witnessing the culmination of well over a decade of hard work, long term investment and learning painful lessons from big mistakes in the prospect of a first title in half a century. The film 'Everest' comes to mind; you've basically been air-lifted to the summit, whereas we have climbed the bloody thing from the very base to what we thought was the peak, but then after an arduous journey, we ran out of oxygen.

Fine, balanced post ... my own view is that if we do make CL both will stay .. the season after that, who knows? ... but we are highly progressive as a club and although I don't see a replica of this phenomenal season, I do think we will be very competitive, bolstered by some quality signings and the emergence of some excellent young prospects like Demarai Gray, Ben Chilwell, Joe Dodoo etc

'If'?! You do know that you've almost mathematically qualified?!

You are certainly a very ambitious club. A rare example of an owner who knows nothing about the game yet makes plenty of good decisions. But being progressive and ambitious simply isn't enough to match the true giants out there. Despite your success this season, you will remain financial plankton for a number of years to come. So I guess it does boil down to loyalty, as your best players will be offered deals that will make their eyes water.

Agreed - Gray was a good bit of business. Is Chilwell a product of your academy?

And as for 'Joe Dodoo'... who the f*ck is that?! Sounds like a strippagram! <laugh>

..Ben Chilwell is a youth academy product ..Dodoo a real quality wide player ..scored a hat-trick against Bury in capital one cup debut and also scored when we knocked the Spammers out in the following round ... we got to the semis of the FA youth cup last season, going out to Citeh ... we have a really good youth set up ...

Jack Wheelchair spotted doing extra training on Saturday:
please log in to view this image

“Meeting Jack Wilshere completely off his bonce last night was fuuunny the geezer loves a bev.”

Police were called after Mr Wheelchair hit an employee of the club and ran away, It is understood Wilshere completely denied the allegation of assault and complied with the officers who arrived to diffuse the situation. They found him hiding behind some waste bins. What a prick!

Arsene Wenger is said not to have seen the incident. Roy Hodgson is said not to care.

Er, yeah, that is pretty much exactly what happened.

Btw, you forgot the blatant tapping up of Victor Wanyama last summer. And Jay Rodriguez the year before.

You're right about one thing though; Levy and Pochettino is a match made in heaven, absolute pair of double dealing underhand shysters. But you can tell the slimey Argie he's not getting any more of our players and he's not getting his islands back either.

I never get exactly why Saints fans hate us. It was the mousers who nicked virtually all your top players, yet it's Spurs that seem to get the grief.

As for M.P, he was always going to leave after Cortese was dumped. It was just a matter of where he went.

Have you got any decent players left? Honestly can't think of one player I'd want from you

More of your players? Bale was the last player we signed from you and I don't think Poch was involved in that deal

Bless you. You think you know what tapping up looks and sounds like. Try facing the likes of Madrid and United under Fergie. THAT is tapping up. As a Spurs fan through and through, I honestly don't remember Poch's name mentioned even once during the 2013-14 campaign (the season which, if you'd bothered reading the quotes I kindly provided), he had already warned loud and clear would be his last if Cortese left.
Correct me if I'm wrong fellow posters, but weren't we reading loads about Van Gaal and very little about Poch?

Look, you're clearly pissed off - again, I cannot fathom why as it was Liverpool and United who decimated your talented squad, not us. As for your usage of the term 'Shyster' I would politely suggest that you refrain from such expressions of your bizarre anger. A number of etymologists trace its origin to the anti-Semitic slur 'Shylock'. Although I'm not Jewish myself, we have a number of Jewish posters on here and I would completely understand if they took offence at that. There are many other words you can choose to express your imaginary grievances <ok>

We was heavily linked with LVG & De Boer.

Poch name didn't really come up until late April/early may time if I remember correctly.

I think it might be Levy buying out Bale's sell-on fee from them for a packet of walkers and a pint of Stella, thereby denying them a nice piece of the large cake Madrid gave us for him. That was a classic Levy move :emoticon-0126-nerd:

    BBC 29 March 2014:

Ruud Gullit says Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has met with Louis van Gaal and claims it is a "done deal" that the Dutchman will take over as Spurs boss.

Van Gaal, 62, will be replaced by Guus Hiddink as coach of the Netherlands after this summer's World Cup.

Spurs named Tim Sherwood, 45, as head coach on an 18-month deal in December.

Ex-Chelsea boss Gullit told BBC Radio 5 live: "I know for sure he was at Van Gaal's house, the chairman. I think it's a done deal, but you never know."

To be fair, Levy through in the crisps as an act of goodwill, those dozy twats settled on the pint. Generous to a fault is Mr Levy.

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has emerged as a top target to take over as manager of the Syrian national team.

...and Syrians thought that ISIS was the worst thing to happen to their country.
