Ghilas looked top notch on youtube.. quite frankly if you get a decent agent with some video editing knowledge, bung in a few montages of you scoring against Man U reserves and then get some friends to sign on to youtube and write fab comments like "watched him last night, went round 3 United defenders like they weren't there.." then the job's a good 'un.. at least might get you a trial.. bets there's a lot of lazy scouts these days (probably working for Sven) who invite players to trial based on internet research.. bit like lazy journos..
I just got back from the game. He looked useful against a spirited yet poor Bradford side. He took the goal well and looked fairly useful had a bit of pace, but not lightening. He looks like Zenden from afar (physical looks rather than a comparison as a player). Our second half performance was pretty poor compared to first, harper and atkinson as CM's says it all really. Ghilas got 45 mins in second half and was pretty peripheral, got taken out a couple of time, he did get Barms through on goal though but he hit the post. Bradley had an assured game at centre half for 80 mins b4 Townsend came on. Simpson went off injured after coming on in the second (left ankle) think it was just a knock. Two goals for Cairney, who played well and is putting himself in contention for Blackpool. I thought Adebola had a decent 45, won alot of balls and made a few knockdowns.
in this video my friend (Buffito) has translated what he is saying for me, he said he is happy to be at this club and the way the club want to move forward.as had other offers from two of clubs but this is the right club (arschkriecher) for me he said he is more useful to the team as a striker than in the midfield (ie the usual BS )
With Simpson possibly injured, Adebola being a 30 minute guy and McLean revealing he has a personality. Probably.
This Pusic looked really good. Got that touch of class. Felt sorry for Ghilas starting right midfield. He actually kicked one off the line from their corner, then carried the move on. He can really shift. TC is surely a certainty for CM. I still dont like Mckenna, shouts and points a lot then gets caught out or gives the ball away, Evans instead for me.
Just saw him pick up a knock and when he came off the pitch, he was pointing towards his left ankle to the phsyio. Tbh it look innocuous, he could walk on it. But suppose we'll find out by Sat if he plays at Chesterfield.
To anyone who went, how was Fryatt first half? I've thought he's looked a bit quiet in pre-season, and only scored at Ferriby so far.
Ye he did look a little bit rusty still. Linked up ok a few times. I dont know if he looks like he wants ADe up with him, maybe he wants to be the main attacker. He got put through once but he isnt that quick. Not knocking him maybe he just gotta adjust a little more, reckon he will prefer Simpson alongside him. Dunno how serious Simmo's knock was.
I think it was telling that having tried every other partnership possible, NP still hasn't played Fryatt and Simpson up front together yet. Maybe he doesn't see the point as they're too similar... Or is he just saving them until Blackpool so Ollie's scouts don't suss us? I'm not convinced by McKenna yet either. Not saying he's **** but he hasn't made me think he should start V Blackpool yet.
Has he used the same pairings twice yet though? (and I don't mean for 10 minutes in the making substitutions phase)
Today he use Fryatt and Adebola first half, which is the same as the first half V Ferriby. You and I both pointed out on seperate threads that if he was going to try every partnership, it'd be the turn of Fryatt/Simpson and McLean/Adebola tonight. Maybe he has a weird superstition about having two strikers of different skin colour?
