I think Lallana still has a big role to play. For Klopp's style to work in the PL we will need a big squad and smart rotation.

Lallana can perform in a few roles and is very good off the bench when seeing out a game.

I heard Klopp's see's Gotze as the perfect partner for Coutinho in AM. Klopp likes 2 AM's and 1 winger or wide forward behind and front man. All must be able to play high energy, high press, interchange and score goals.

Klopp has had high praise for Firmino as a striker, and Firmino has now started banging the goals in, he just needed time to settle. With AM players who can run ahead and also score it could work wonders.

I think a front trio of Gotze, Coutinho and Firmino sounds great. We just need a direct and acey player to truly unlock their potential. Maybe this can be Origi who can play wide or up top. Theo Walcott is a good example of the style of player I have in mind, but his injuries have taken their toll.

Sturridge may not be in shape or mind to fully rely on. But he could still be deadly off the bench and for certain key matches. Its all about smart rotation. Sturridge is a natural scoring who tends to score early or soon after joining the game, before he slows down. If he continues to score at his usual ratio, but cannot play full matches, he is still great value IMO.

Klopp will find one. it won't be ings, sturridge or benteke. he'll find the next lewandoski for us.. its about finding a guy with right attributes and attitude to develop and teaching. Not about buying finished product. buying the finished product is lazy man's management.

Or is Origi his man. He wanted Origi at Dortmund and is giving him a lot of time and attention.

Lets just say this.

Barcelona. 433, no real width but neymar does hang round wide left and messi has "sacrficied" himself as much as anyone who doesn't move if he doesn't have ball can.. Tis all baout full backs and interplay and just destroying teams with class.

Look at Bayern themselves this year. douglas costa has been crucial for them, muller, gotze has not played much, robben ribery.. all could play wide but do they really? all pull in. all played central at one time or another

Look at real. Ronaldo, bale, modric behind benzema... is anyone sticking ronadlo wide really?

Look round Europe and there are very very few guys stuck out wide and theres a lot of interchange, but the key fact is the play it faster and with more purpose. our lot take 10 touches then pass it back or worse just run it up to an opponent and lose it.

Exactly, I don't think you need wingers (most times) if you have clever players that can play anywhere across the front line, free, fluid movement, take the defence where they don't want to go, open up spaces for others to exploit and also agree, quicker one/two touch passing when getting in the final third..
Thats where the likes of Ibe lets himself down, takes too many touches and time on the ball, teams get back into shape and he either loses the ball or puts in a poor cross/pass which also leads to losing the ball, he needs to let the clever players do that until he's developed enough game intelligence to do it himself!

maybe he is but the lad needs a bit of time too. I think klopp needs at least two so origi might be one. we know the others are not up to it... and yeah that includes ings cos he misses the target a lot.

yes.. as long as they get in behind and make sapce they are fine. barca never just play in fornt of sides like we do.

Ibe does let himself down as he does take too much out of ball and then ends up just blindly crossing it.

on thing i'd like to see klopp do is convert him from wing to CF. that might be interesting. he has the power for it.... but he's not a head up creative player.

Lets be fair, we don't really have the same players to work with..
But agree with you, Klopp has is own style, he's now seen what does and doesn't work in the PL..
He'll (hopefully) adapt his style a bit that better suits the game here while still keeping to the core traditions of his own philosophy

not kloppps fault... yet... he needs to get in his lot

Exactly, he's had them playing some good football, but faults under previous regimes are still there, soft under belly, can be got at, be it mental, technical or most likely both, these need to be eradicated or at the very least limited to a 1/20 occurance not 1/4!
Will agree that most of the issues he's suffered have been due to personal or lack of (during the period when loads were out injured) but the Southampton defeat is on him, he made unnecessary or the wrong changes at the wrong time.. take it on the chin, learn from it, move on and improve!

yes... very soft. I think he can take a few guys on but.... i think in general he needs harder players.

Imagine we sell Benteke for £30m+ and get Gotze for £15m- £20m.

I think Lallana still has a role to play at the club and if we add someone like Gundogan to the team we'd definitely challenge for the top four.

We add Gundogan and Gotze to Coutinho, Firmino, Can, Sturridge, I think many here would die of a perpetual hardon!
But Gundogan if he leaves Dortmund, can see him going to City or Juve..
Gotze is a rumour building up a head of steam but I won't believe it until its signed and sealed!

Gotze has only started 4 league games this season, I know he has been injured but surely we must be looking for players who are good enough to play first team for their team. Or is it that his style does not fit the Bayern team

this might happen.

theres a lot of moeny about and benteke could easily go for that amount despite all the knockers.

Gotze seems to be available but only until someone gets in his ear at bayern and he signs a new deal so if its to happen we have to move fast

LFC team next year

Mingolet
Clyne Hummels Matip Hector
Gundogen Grujic
Firmino Gotze coutinho
Milik

thats what?

hummels free transfer :bandit:
Matip free.
Hector, 8mil max
Gundogen.. 20mil (contract out 2017)
Gotze 15mil (contract out 2017)
milik 15mil

Sell benteke for 35mil, balotelli for 15mil to china, henderson to spurs for 85mil... ahem.... Bascially you could do it out of sales. don't for get sturridge to psg for 50mil

Gotze isn't exactly what we need but for £15-20m, we need to go in for him.

Gotze as the number 10 behind Firmino as the false 9 could work. But we'll still need a quality wide man with pace.

A quality wide man with pace? Ox is our man <whistle>

I don't actually want Ox, he's just someone we'd typically go for (or at least we would have pre Klopp) hopefully now Klopp has come in we'll be targeting a different type of players (I.e no overpriced and overhyped English tripe <ok>)

I actually rate Ox lol. I think he is talented but has stagnated badly. Anything less than £10m, I would take a punt.
