Sky are copying the others and going with the story too: http://www.skysports.com/football/n...e-a-transfer-target-for-liverpool-sky-sources
Hmm don't think wanting to play for Guardiola and now Klopp again are mutually exclusive. He'd obviously be great but I'd hope him arriving signals quite a few deals will happen because it doesn't address any priority areas.
no but it just shows it wasn't tears as they parts. Klopp spoke after he moved stating why he thought the guy wanted to go. I can see him fishing for any more and i can equally see him doing a 180 and suddenly becoming achelotti's bestie if it suits. If he arrives its a strong signal. teixteria was similar.. klopp really wants to improve this area Theres a clear left full link, CM link and a CB already coming.
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...s/liverpool-fc-news-transfer-rumours-11104219 I just want to make is clear i did not create the pool on the echo page. MEH.... being the answer added just for me means nothing ok....
Gotze would be great but it would mean someone leaves Tex is gone IMO anyway. I think it would mean the end of Lallana.
I dunno. I think theres a lot of open points. Many seem to want markoivc back for example .We just don't know. Klopp has gone for alez teixteria already and now it MIGHT be gotze. If klopp wants a 4-2-3-1 he's got room for 4 or 5 second line attackers and if 3 of them are lallana (no killer instinct, lightweight but tires) coutinho and firmino then that leaves room for 2. Ibe is useful as a club trained player but he's got to learn and then we will see... Klopp could replace all and i kind of expect so over 2 seasons.
Agree with Tex, he's gone.. But not so much with regards to Lallana, think Klopp likes the fella.. will be a squad player. I can see the likes of Allen, Lucas leaving, even Hendo if the right offer comes in (not sure how I feel about that, I like the fella). "Rumours" that he's not sold on Sturridge and the fact that he's one broken toe nail away from a four month lay-off.. Personally, think it'd be a mistake getting rid of him! If Ibe doesn't get out of his funk, he'll either be loaned out or sold too.. Markovic needs to have a good pre-season, otherwise he'll be offloaded.. Benteke is as good as gone.. Will be a very busy summer at LFC but hopefully one where all our In's are done by the 1st July, that's the deadline Klopp has set! I think the likes of Smith, Brannagan, Stewart and Chirivella will get more 1st team exposure We have Ings and Gomez returning, Matip and Gruic already in the bag.. Its not about the big name signings, its about the right signings and hopefully Klopp with get the players he needs to play the type of game he wants.
Lallana has played well the last couple of months. He's getting some consistent game time and it's benefitting him. I think he's probably aware (like 90% of the squad) that he isn't safe and needs to put in the graft to stay. I'd keep him, definitely a good squad option and no one is going to pay upwards of £20m of him so not much point in getting rid. Gotze would be a brilliant signing but is he really what we need? I suppose he is creative but then where we would he play? In the middle behind CF... where does that leave Cout/Firmino? He's not a strong dominating tempo CM that we need... he's not a pacey winger....
Lallana, a high energy, technically decent player, to bring on towards the end of the game, to help keep pressing sides and hopefully, more end product isn't a bad option. Ibe, the lad has potential, but appears to have a bum attitude of late, the likes of Ojo are already getting in the squad ahead of him, he needs to buck up his ideas or he'll be gone, Klopp gives the impression that he doesn't suffer fools! Gotze needs to rebuild, he's been at best average since winning the world cup, maybe he does need a change on environment and work with a familair fae that trusts and brings out the best in him, if so, then he'd be one hell of a signing, him, Coutinho and Firmino behind Sturridge, with Can and N'Golo Kante type player alongside Can.. a decent LB and better Goalie, that, there isn't a bad 11!
I think we desperately need him and Klopp thinks that too. It was clear that without Coutinho a couple months back we just couldn't score. We had a total lack of link up play and no flair at all, just a team of work horses. In addition Gotze can play as a false 9 too, as he does for Germany. I would imagine a 4-2-3-1 with the three of Coutinho, Firmino and Gotze behind a striker.
Think the idea is with the likes of Gotze, Coutinho and Firmino, you don't have fix positions for them, you let them go all over the place.. take the opposition defence with them... bit like what Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana did against City away..
Still have the same problem.. no width. Sometimes it'll work and be fine when there is plenty of space against the bigger sides... however when teams sit deep and there is no space for those 3 to move around in, what happens? We fall apart because we have no pace/width to get round the sides.
IMO gotze would play ACM for klopp thats where he was played by klopp at dortmun. Reus on left nominally and that unpronounceable blaszwhazzit on right Not sure firmino suite RW at all... seems anonymous there we will see. If it occurs it needs to happen fast prior to preseason and euros. if it doesn't happen then anchelotti will be getting a hold of him and bayern will be working on him,
Thats only down to what players do though... Firmino and coutinho need to stay wide or not play in that case. Again would teixteria have solved this.. nope.
Agreed, if he's been "turned" to the idea of moving and working with Klopp again, then strike now and get the deal done.. We've seen with our dealings the longer it goes on the less likely it happens!
3 clever players and a mobile striker ahead, not sure width is always ensential, and, yes, limited they maybe but both Coutinho and Firmino can do a job on the wings now and then.. More dependable full backs can/should be able to attack as well as they defend, in Clyne (for the most part), he's been OK defensively but not so great going forward, and Moreno the opposite..
I think Lallana still has a big role to play. For Klopp's style to work in the PL we will need a big squad and smart rotation. Lallana can perform in a few roles and is very good off the bench when seeing out a game. I heard Klopp's see's Gotze as the perfect partner for Coutinho in AM. Klopp likes 2 AM's and 1 winger or wide forward behind and front man. All must be able to play high energy, high press, interchange and score goals. Klopp has had high praise for Firmino as a striker, and Firmino has now started banging the goals in, he just needed time to settle. With AM players who can run ahead and also score it could work wonders. I think a front trio of Gotze, Coutinho and Firmino sounds great. We just need a direct and acey player to truly unlock their potential. Maybe this can be Origi who can play wide or up top. Theo Walcott is a good example of the style of player I have in mind, but his injuries have taken their toll. Sturridge may not be in shape or mind to fully rely on. But he could still be deadly off the bench and for certain key matches. Its all about smart rotation. Sturridge is a natural scoring who tends to score early or soon after joining the game, before he slows down. If he continues to score at his usual ratio, but cannot play full matches, he is still great value IMO.
Lets just say this. Barcelona. 433, no real width but neymar does hang round wide left and messi has "sacrficied" himself as much as anyone who doesn't move if he doesn't have ball can.. Tis all baout full backs and interplay and just destroying teams with class. Look at Bayern themselves this year. douglas costa has been crucial for them, muller, gotze has not played much, robben ribery.. all could play wide but do they really? all pull in. all played central at one time or another Look at real. Ronaldo, bale, modric behind benzema... is anyone sticking ronadlo wide really? Look round Europe and there are very very few guys stuck out wide and theres a lot of interchange, but the key fact is the play it faster and with more purpose. our lot take 10 touches then pass it back or worse just run it up to an opponent and lose it.
There were some rumours linking us to the Ox? Quality player.. but he too will most likely ruin his "peak" years playing backup on the Gooners bench.. If the keep Ozil and Sanchez add others along with Welbeck, does he get into their front six? Nope..
