Good to keep on as coach. Might as well be on the playing staff too. As good as he's been these few games, he shouldn't be relied upon but a great example to the others.

Definitely keep him as a great role model for the young ones.

He's proven that he still cares and will put himself on the line for the shirt.

Clint is the reason our fortunes have changed, true leader! Getting on but should keep hall out until end of season. I say that through tight lips

    agree with this 100%
"I say give the man another year as a player/coach role. We haven't had a player of his commitment and loyalty for a long time. He's the type of player we want our youngsters to look up to plus as proved recently he can still play in the championship and he knows he will only be a back up player. "

Clint has been great for us and I love his attitude: if only we had more like him...

BUT, he has played just 9 times this season out of 38 games. He is 37 years old. On the right contract, he might be worth keeping on as a player but we can't afford to be sentimental where the finances are concerned. For sure, he is coach material but I can't help feeling that, if we are looking to improve the squad, we should be looking at bright young prospects rather than someone who will be 38 in the course of next season.

Knowing Clint, he'd probably agree with me!

But why has he only played the 9 games? Has he had a lot of injuries? I don't remember any this season he doesn't seem to play through. When he has started he seems to have done well and, especially under Ramsey when we were letting in many goals, he didn't play too much. It will be interesting to see if he keeps his place now Hall is back. I think if he's fit and good enough now and stays so til the end of the season, he'd be worth keeping. His experience and the effort he gives the Club is invaluable, and we won't get a top 6 place next season with only bright young prospects.

I don't recall Clint being injured but I may be wrong. Once the season got underway, I think Hall and Onuoha were first choice and Clint has only got back in following Hall's recent injury. It's only this run of games in the last month or so that has bumped up Clint's appearances stats to the 9 that I quoted.

and we certainly wont be achieving top 6 places with 38 years olds. We need Hall and Angella to develop as our first choice CB pairing.
Clint should only be an injury replacement for the remainder of this season.
Agree with Rodney, Clint has been an outstanding player for the club, but time calls, and this could be his last playing season.
Really hope there is a coaching role for him.

    Isn't Angella just on loan?

Of course not but one like Clint will make a big contribution if he is at his current level.

Yes. Can still do a job, and would love him to stay and become part of the setup - of course it all depends on the club, and if there is a role for him - no free rides, but can't imagine we would risk losing his experience and attitude, esp as a role model/mentor for our younger players.
