Only gets a 10% reduction as well, so he has to serve at least 5 and half years before he is released. No early release for good behaviour.

Somebody was saying the judge said he has to serve a minimum of 3 years?

This is being discussed on the striped pyjamas thread fyi.

I think the length and severity of sentence is influenced by the fact he didn't plead guilty from the start

I see the judge also mentioned a breach of trust. Johnson certainly ticked all the right boxes for the longest sentence possible.

I doubt taking the piss out of the court was appreciated either, the stupid thick ****er.

And stripped of England caps

How does that work? If they still receive physical caps, they can ask for them to be returned, but they can't re-write history and pretend he never played.

As for the "supporting a *****" argument, it's hardly valid, Bramble and Remy played for us when they were under suspicion of rape, if they'd been found guilty we wouldn't have been guilty of condoning their actions.

I agree with that. By all means, punish him for what he did two years ago, but punishing him.five years ago for what he did two years ago is bloody nonsense. He won those caps before committing the crime, and in my view, they should stand.
