It's clear that he was caught.

I love the way Noble begged the ref at every foul to book a player. Plus having to swear shows you have a lack of intelligence<ok>

What an absolute sack of **** that was.

    Tactically inept, heartless and gutless

Win the cup or not, I want Martinez fired. We're never going to achieve anything in the league under this clown

Never knew this until I read it today. Martinez home wins since 2010

    10/11 4 wins
    11/12 5 wins
    12/13 4 wins (relegated)
    13/14 13 wins
    14/15 7 wins
    15/16 4 wins

    That's bloody awful.

Didn't realise that either...time to get rid for me tbh with new investment and a few players to get rid of now due to ending contracts I think it's time to let someone else invest wisely

May seem strange to say this but I think he's better than this, but he doesnt have the balance of a good defensive coach in his backroom staff or as one of his senior assistants.

    Yep.

The 13 wins season was the season after Moyes left and we were great at home under him. Defensively sound and had the right balance towards the end of his tenure.

Since then Martinez has reverted to type.

He's not good enough for Everton imo, he's out of his depth. A cup manger who can put sides together who are capable of winning any individual game but are never consistent due to his gung ho tactics and his inflexible game management

    Adios.

I do really like Martinez as a manager and his teams do play great footy but he just can't seem to organise a defence to save his life. Do you think he would be open to bringing in a top drawer defensive coach to help him out?

I don't know but surely the club would know who and what coaches are available?

Or do you think he wouldn't want one in anyway? If that's the case then you probably need to move on...

They all like to work with own team. Like Moyes with Round.....what did he do.

I'm sure the club will make the decision on him staying or going, the atmosphere at home games is poisonous.....away, we have less pressure and perform well.

    Maybe it's just psychological?

    It's tactical mate.

Away from home the opposition come at us more and his attacking style is good at exploiting space and playing on the counter

At home sides sit in more and we leave gaping holes in our defence as a team by pushing both full backs on and leaving acres of space in behind.

His record across his career mirrors what's happening with us - barring the season he took over Moyes well drilled and defensively solid side. He added some flair and it worked

By season 2 the Moyes effect had worn off and we're left with Martinez default brittle, goal sieving standard fare.

He needs to go for me.

    Fair enough, but who?

I don't want some Moyes type who doesn't go for it, I want to spend my weekends being entertained and he has given more of that in nearly three seasons than Moyes ever did.

The atmosphere at home is toxic, fans braying for a mistake so they can blame someone. No wonder the players look shot, afraid to try something....

I agree, but if entertainment means getting beaten at home every other week, then I draw the line.

There's a balance between pragmatism and an attacking football philosophy. Martinez game management is woeful, as he appears to steadfastly refuse to compromise his 'philosophy'.

With a new backer at the club and a very good squad to inherit plus a likely transfer kitty of well over £100m - once we almost certainly lose Stones and Lukaku in the summer - there'll be plenty of takers for the job. It's one of the top 20 best paid managers jobs in the World.

If we win the cup he'll almost certainly get a stay of execution, which could ironically be a longer term setback for the club.

Virtually every Blue I've spoken to about it, wants him gone in the summer now. The West Ham game was the tipping point for many, and last weeks debacle put the tin hat on it.

The West Ham game was over me of those things for me.

Two top quality balls into the box caught us out.

My view is that is Martinez goes then McCarthy, Lukaku and Gerry will look to move away as in my opinion is that Bobby is the reason they are still with us.

Lukuku is as good as gone already.

His change of agent last year was a single of his intent.

He wants CL football and he's one of the hottest strikers in Europe this season, there'll be some big names come in for him this summer imo.

I don't think Martinez going or staying would have any impact on his decision.

McCarthy maybe, Gerry has been benched for 2 months mate.

West Ham wasn't just one of those things for me, he took off Lennon and brought on another striker when defending a 2 goal lead, it was piss poor game management that lead to that defeat imo.

It was Mirallas and his ****ing attitude that cost us the WHU game IMO.

Putting fresh legs to peg back West Ham was the plan, you can't play that intensity to stay ahead for so long and just let them push us back.....in my opinion.

It just didn't work, yet a week later he gets it right and has us on our way to Wembley

Your right, he was sent off! For a dive and a stupid tackle.

Leaving us with 10 men against a form side. To be fair we did well to get 2-0 up and did our best to hold on
