Why not take a risk? Why use mediocre strikers in a 4-4-2 instead of a youngster who has big potential in the formation we plan to play all season?

Who better than Arsenal? A not very physical team who pass a lot, would be more suited to playing against them than say, Stoke for example.

Dont see why we wouldnt give Abeid a chance straight away in the PL (not the derby though, admittedly), part of pre season is young players showing you they can step up. His performances so far sound like he should definitely be in and around the first team this season.

Yeah he definitely wouldn't be starting IMO straight away especially since our first two games are against top 4 opposition and the mackems, I would say we need all the experience we can get in those two games.

Abeid should definitely be given minutes though as hes been my favourite player in pre-season along with Colo.

I seem to remember what happened to Arsenal trying to play passing football against Barca?

He's done himself no harm at all, but I'd rather give him a bit more time to settle in before throwing him into the deep end.

I'm not saying we should play passing football <doh> I'm saying he'd be more suited to that opposition wise to start with.

  9. Why can't we passing football vs Arsenal? I know we can't do it better than them, but the one thing i've noticed about Arsenal is most of the time they're amazing with the ball but **** without the ball. Just because they're masters at passing doesn't mean they're masters of intercepting the ball.

We should pass and play creatively whilst trying to over power them.

I'm not saying what style of play we should use, I'm trying to say why shouldn't he have a chance against Arsenal where we know he has less of a chance of getting injured and can play his usual style. I'd rather put him out against Arsenal than Stoke who would bully him and knock his confidence.

Pack the midfield, changed my mind. Play Gosling, skillful and gets stuck in. With Cabaye, Barton and Gosling as well as Tiote we should be able to play good football and battle well.

Which Arsenal should struggle with hopefully. They dont have the physicality to match that midfield.

I can see Wenger siding his strongest team after what happened last time they came here!

I think its crucial that Barton plays against Arsenal, absolutely imperative even!
