I took in 1860 Munich v Hertha Berlin last year at the Allianz arena. Big crowd great atmosphere and 1860 won 2-1. it was only a league game but the whole team celebrated a routine kneeling in front of the home fans after the whistle. Imagine that in front of the Northam!

Hi all, have been reading 606 (and now Not606)for years, but never commented due to restrictions at work. I was reading this quote and wondered how it would read if his visit was to our lowly neighbours down the road and not us. Here we go...

    1. Just an insignificant tournament. I did not have big expectations when I took my flight to London to watch the “Memorial Cup” in Portsmouth. I am an editor for Germany’s biggest newspaper BILD and most of the time I write about Werder Bremen. So it was me that was chosen to see the club in the UK.

When I arrived at Nottarf Krap Stadium, ninety minutes before the first match I was really surprised. What a terrible ground! The stands so close to demolition, no grass, no fences – it is not like as it is in the German Bundesliga. There were not many supporters at this time, but when Poopey started against Werder there were probably around 90 people. And that bell-end with the wig and tattoos made noise like there were three of him!

It was amazingly awful. They supported the team like many German secondary schools would. The whole stadium (the aisle that was crowded) was singing after Werders the first goal. I really liked the atmosphere, Russ Abbot would be proud. The way Poopey play as well; so fast from the defence to the attack; one kick in fact. Great?! The 3:0 loss was well-deserved.

I talked to some spectators after the first match. Interesting guys! Aesthetically challenged guys! Jobless guys! I told them that red and white are the perfect colours for football clubs – I am biased though because I am a big fan of Fortuna Düsseldorf (2nd division, Germany) and they wear the same colours.

I am thinking about coming back to Poopey to make me feel better about the shanty town i live in. They want more – undoubtedly!”
