According to Spanish press but national press are saying he is set to sign for an initial ten games This is heating up folks!
Interesting, I was reading a piece earlier today that his agent and himself tend to talk a lot more to the Spanish press than other national media, the main point of the article was that it had gone very quiet from his agent over all the speculation and the Spanish press were getting nothing out of them.
Good signing for once lads, if it comes off, hell of a job turning things around in 10 games though, but it will make our visit to you next month more fun!........
This would be brilliant Stay up and things will improve but it should have been done earlier its a big ask
Sneaky ****ing trick. Fancy getting a new manager just before a derby game. Under ****ing handed if you ask me.
Rafa Benitez??? World-Class Manager. Would be a staggering signing. Shame they didn't move for him earlier. Just can't see it happening though... PLEASE let me be wrong on this one!
Spanish Radio station Cadena Cope have tweeted that he has signed a 3 years deal, no other verification though.
Just the lift alone in the mood around the club would be worth all the cost of bringing in Rafa and getting rid of McBrolly
I think one of the main positives around this (if it happens) is that its being reported that Benitez will be Newcastle United Manager, not a head coach, not some kind of director or some other made up role. He will have an active role in the decision of signings, he will not be bullied or pushed about, he will be given a tranfer kitty and pretty much be able to sign the players he feels compliment others at the club. His managed some real top clubs Liverpool Napoli Chelsea Valencia Real Madrid and I honestly think that he will be able to keep us up and push us on to a much more succesful and enjoyable season next year.
Not just that but his European contacts and knowledge along with a history of success in England and Europe, he is sometimes noted at not being successful in the transfer market but will have an extensive knowledge of European footballers and really couldn't be any worse than what we have achieved, it's one of those please make it happen days.
