I dunno that he would get in ahead of Gorkss and Fonte. I have no idea how good Jemal is (nor does anybody on this forum) so who can say, we'll leave it to Nicola, Nige and the scouts to decide.
why wouldnt we sign both? jaidi is old... seabourne is untried and martin can surely do a season in league 1
More comments from Ammar Jemal's Facebook page suggest a move to Saints is imminent. He is liking comments in regard to joining Saints and posted: "I hope to give as much as you want from me Waitting for all..."
His Twitter confirms the same: http://twitter.com/#!/AmmarJemal Cortese will definitely put a stop to this Twitter and Facebook lark if he signs! Looks promising though...
Because Martin could ideally do with some time out on loan, Seaborne might or might not be good enough (I'm tempted to side with the "not", but I'm happy to be proved wrong), and Jaidi just doesn't have the pace to put in sufficient performances on a regular basis. Fonte is our CB that I'm have completel faith and confidence in at this level. That is nowhere near enough. So whilst I'd be more than happy to have just one of them, I'd be over the moon at getting both. I'd even start believing that a top half finish would be a very realistic target.
Ched Evans did ace for me on FM when I took Saints to the Prem! 24 goals in the season having signed him for 2m, then sold him to Napoli for 7.5m
Echo reporter Gordon Simpson says Saints are waiting for a work permit for Jemal before completion of the deal.
For the conspiracy theorists I just had a look at the OS and the following have no squad number quoted: Richard Chaplow, Harlee Dean, Guly Do Prado, Joseph Mills and Jayson Puncheon. Unused numbers are 5 10 13 18 19 26 27.
These are the official squad numbers: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2397597,00.html
Not that this matters at all to anybody, but even if we get Ammar Jemal, he'll miss the Leeds match and Torquay match as according to reports, he has been selected for Tunisia's up coming friendly against Mali on the 10th August.
According to TalkSport, we don't want Gorkss, just a cash only sale of £1m for Puncheon! http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n.../8/southampton-demand-£1m-qpr-target-puncheon Not sure if there's any truth in this? Or was there any truth in the Gorkss stories from the start? £1m does seem a lot for him, not sure if many clubs would want to pay that for what is essentially a reject player!
